would be hilarious, except for star dragons/dwarves/bloodthirsters i think it would do alright, would struggle against s7 bolt throwers, or s7 flying things.

I'm imaging a S7 Bolt thrower wrecking your army...

I think this is a very nice list!

Dwarves, rune of +1 strength, just need to make all 4 unique, give them engineers and they hit on 4s first turn (with +1 to go first) 3s second turn. so two dead chariots, then 3 dead chariots. eagles can annoy all of them, or maybe kill 2. another dead chariot (assuming eagles stop 2 bolt throwers). Just have to make sure flaming bolt throwers dont shoot at Noble chariot.

I actually don't think the "don't take chariots, S7 owns them!" argument works as well against a whole army of the things - I saw an Ard Boyz list recently that had maxed out S7+ bolters, but otherwise I think 2 is pretty standard. And they do miss, and chariots can cover ground pretty quickly to minimize how many shots are getting off (and as noted, eagles for getting up in bolters' junks).

Also, some of us don't play armies with oodles of S7 / 10 firepower

Sorry to give out the impression that this list is going to do horribly, i think it would actually do quite well and win a lot of games, as well as be fun to play, i was just saying that i think it has some weaknesses that may show up in tournaments. One being S7 bolt throwers, but really i think shooty dwarves in general would be hard for this list, though far from impossible. The other would be flying s7 creatures. A single Bloodthirster would be very difficult to kill with this list and could kill a chariot a combat phase if it overran properly. (yes i saw the same bolt thrower list which is actually what gave me the idea)

I play with HE and have not used a star dragon yet and usually use a large amount of infantry, i would be slaughtered by this list (unless he was incredibly unlucky and there were a lot of forests... everywhere)

lol I really like this list and have thought about running something very simular. I currently run a 2 stardragon list with 3 rbt and 2 eagles in 3k and its alot of fun. Also I was surprised at how well it works. For those people "omg S7 rbt gonna own you!!" thats why he has 4 freakin eagles. I think its a great list and in the right hands will win alot of games and mix things up.

I'm not too concerned RE: Bloodthirsters, star dargons or masses of St 7 warmachines.

People just don't take them in the current metagame of the tourney scene in Australia.

My fear is no rank bonus, but combo charging 2 lion chariots and a character chariot should help that.

That's a neat list. One variation I would toy with (if I had 6 lion chariots) would be to replace your mages with a dragon mage with a couple of dispel scrolls. The down side to that is you'd lose 1DD and the +1 to dispel, but you'd get a flying terror causer to help break large units. You'd also have an extra 100 points to play around with, but you don't really have anything you could do with them except buy more archers.

edit: I've just realized that the lion chariots already have fear so the terror causer really isn't that helpful after all. Anyways, I like dragons. Everyone should take more dragons (unless you're playing against me).

The fear causing is the best thing about lion chariots, there are just so many fear/terror causers around these day you need to mitigate it when you can.
