far away from Battle Creek, Michigan

So based on my experience in last week's Irish GT I'm tweaking my list. The new list:

HQ
Warboss, cybork, squig, pk, 'eavy armor
Big Mek, KFF, 'eavy armor

Troops
1. 9 Diversified nobz + painboy in Deff Rolla Wagon (2 BS, red paint, plank, grabbin' klaw, armor plates, stikk bomb chukka)
2. 19 boyz + Nob/pk & bp
3. 19 boyz + nob/pk & bp
4. 11 boyz + nob/pk and bp in Trukk with RR, plank
5. 12 gretchin + runtherder

Elite
1. 14 Kommandos (x2 burnas) + snikrot

Heavy
1. Deff Rolla battlewagon, 1 BS, red paint, plank, grabbin' klaw
2. Deff rolla battlewagon, 1 BS, red paint, plank, grabbin' klaw

This list drops one wagon of boyz and 2 deff koptas in exchange for snikrot and a trukk mob. The strategy is still excatly the same--pray for two turns of movement from my at least half of my vehicles and then kill stuff. Snikrot allows me to punish armies that are better at denying the frontal assault.

PROSECUTOR: By now, there have been 34 casualties.

How did you get on in the GT?

Boss is ok.

Does the big mek really need eavy armour?

Nobz battlewagon has too much wargear on it. Grabbing klaws aren't useful.

Problem is you only have one trukk, which will be easily picked off. I don't like trukks but two are better. Reason is the trukks take fire from the wagons, if the trukks get ignored then the opponent pays for it. Its a sort of win win situtation.

Kommandos do not impress me. They last 5 minutes once they have come in. Lootas for long range fire support are far better.

I would put the wagon in and deffkoptas your dropped and get rid of those grabbing klaws.

Gretchin also seem odd, everything else is mech. I would drop them too.

Mercer, Sir, I hate to insult you. Do you even play ork? You didn't see the tricks on this list? Don't make suggestions without thinking.

Big mek with heavy armor because he goes with the nob and warboss wagon, and painboy will make him live longer.

Grabbing klaws is important for wagons list because this list does not have the speed to chase down fast units and such. Do you hate people who move their land speeder, vyper or ect. for late game contest? Grabbing klaws is your answer trying to stop them. Maybe you haven't play any pro games before. Grabbing klaw has a lot of different uses. Hold down a tank for 1 turn will guarantee hits in assault. After disembark, the wagon can go grab onto your next meal, so the footies don't have to chase them so hard. That nob wagon is very well geared. 2 BS is a very good choice.

Usually people run 4 wagons. Because he wants the Kommandos unit backstabbing, he uses the low cost truck as replacement. I have seen some people hide their truck behind the wagons, and their opponent can't see the truck. Can't target what you can't see. That's up to positioning skill. At the right moment, the truck can shoot out and do some damage.

You reserve the Gretchin, they are useful for the control games since everything is going forward except gretchins. That's 2/3 games. 3+ cover save isn't too bad. You can argue genestealers will own them. Umm.... everything have some weaknesses.

Kommandos have some useful moments. Against IG, tau, eldar, and just about any far away units. Since mech IG and jetbike got so popular in my area, even I started using kommandos. Kommandos have some other uses. A good general is the person who knows how to use his or her army to the fullest. Even sacrificing the kommandos will slow down your opponent, that's a good death. Don't worry, your model will still be there on your next game.

Not many people use lootas as long range support in wagon list. Reason being, your wagons will block los if the field don't have any high building for lootas. Since it's mech age, a smart opponent will take advantage of this weakness.

All in all, this list looks really good on paper and theory. The other 2 wagons don't have stikk bomb chukka. You may want to reconsider installing that on your tanks.

liao ... i agree so completely. Only think i would consider is to drop some kommandos for a deffkopta. It will give away a killpoint, sure, but it is real pain when you have twin linked rokkit flying around with 3+ annoying your transports.

Colonel Hermann Winter's Armoured fist 1500 pts.

I'm surprised mercer said grabba klaws aren't useful. My experience has certainly shown me just the opposite especially when I'm pairing it with the boarding planks for a PK attack.
