Cool rules, nice pricing, and in a fast attack slot too!

What are yall's thoughts on this new (with more variants to follow) suit?

Riddle me this: what has four sides, moves twelve inches, and moved fourteen?

I've just bought a 1500 pt Tau army because of them. They look great, and so I've ordered 3, plus rimmer and 8 other fw suits. I'm using the old metal stealth units as firewarriors, so that everything is suited. Drop in two hammerheads and shadow sun, and I'm done.

Ok burst cannons are bad HBolters, but 3 twlnk pairs should reduce any regular troop choice nicely plus they come with a load of wargear as standard.

Meh, I don't care about mathhammer, so I'm happy

I play tau, I use a lot of burst cannons (mainly beacus my dad uses orks and tyranids). I think there useful (mainly when twin linked) but the hazard suit would be better if it could have other weapons instead. like maby plasma rifles, or some unique weapon that it can only have. burst cannons are good, especially against light infantry.

but I think pathfinders are better in a fast attack slot.

but over all it looks cool! and its nice that the Toughness is 5.

wow, a canadian using ya'll. **check that one off my list of things i'd never see/hear**

i'm liking that it's base t5 so no instakilling with standard weapons (frankly, i think broadsides need this). when they come out with the other weapon variants, i might try my standard suits as them in an apoc game. frankly, my normal suits (even with their drone buffer wounds) don't tend to do much and i depend more on massed FW attacks. i'd be more willing to risk the suits if they couldn't be instapunked by half the heavy weapons/ordnance.

I've been eyeballing these guys and been seriously considering picking up 3.

But, not everyone likes FW rules cause they're not "GW". Yes, I want them, but I don't want to have models I can't field.

Weird cause I'm a collector but still want something I could possibly field..........

The only way id ever play tau is if i bought enough of these new suits to build a non-FW army by modeling them with different weapons

O H I am in the Webway...

I would have been excited but they don't really seem that more heavily armored... I would have though maybe they would be given like FNP or a 2+ save and then I pick their weapons...

...They're meant to be akin to an Assault Squad. Not a Terminator squad.

If you want more heavily armored battlesuits, you use the XV-89s from the Taros campaign. Which also lose the JSJ rule, if I remember right, to represent their heavier Iridium armor.

I'm in with that.. They got Hit-and-run for combat avoidance and added toughness to survive CC if they get caught.

Also note.. burst cannons own if you get alot of hits in.. sure only BS 3 but you can easily bump that up with markerlights ;p
