So most tournaments in Austin play at 2000 points, which means I need to expand off my core list of 1750. Kind of annoying when you have a system you like but oh well. Take a look and tell me what you think. All comments welcome. Thank you.

Librarian seems ok, but there isn't a unit to take advantage of null zone. What you need is a unit with power weapons i.e terminators, then cast null zone on a tough enemy unit with invulnerable saves and send the terminators into them causing them to re-roll invulnerables. At the moment you haven't got a lot which requires the use of invulnerable saves. The nullzone power really compliments a all power weapon unit

Marines are ok, but I feel the lascannon and plasma gun combo is over priced and is middle ground. Not good for popping armour really, not brilliant for anti infantry. Best for monstrous creatures, so I guess if you face loads of those then go for it, if not I'd drop them them and go heavy bolters.

A single predator with lascannons will be a prime target, so will a vindicator. I would drop the thunderfire to get another tank for support, perhaps another vindicator as you've got enough longe range as it is.

Attack bikes are ok but speeders shouldn't be in squadrons, they're too weak. However, two is better than one. I would go with multi meltas and heavy flamers btw instead of missile launchers.

I like what you have there. The Razorbacks are a large investment, but add a lot of firepower. Mercer is somewhat right, but you've got so much AP2 firepower in the vehicles that I think Null Zone will still find good use. I also agree with the choice of Typhoons to round out all that long-range punch. One small change I would make is to swap the Tac Rocket Launcher for a Plasma Cannon. It gives you a second PC, and you have plenty of missle fire already.

This looks like a good mobile gunline list, the only thing I think you might lack is CC defense power. Maybe a Dreadnought with a ranged weapon and his DCCW to catch any line-breakers, maybe even two if you drop one of the tactical squads or some bikes. I've used a pair of dreadnoughts for line defense before and been very impressed. You have a good armor saturation already, so they shouldn't draw too much fire.

Null Zone is more for anti-demon/Seer Council punch. I think I use Avenger 9 times out 10 as his primary power and think of Null Zone more as insurance since he does get to pick a second power for free. I am open to suggestions for other secondary powers, however.

The Razorbacks are old 2nd edition models. I could convert up some HB turrets easily enough, but I like the flexibility offered by the Las/Twin-Plas combo. Plus as GeneralRetreat pointed out it adds alot of AP2 firepower that helps when dealing with SS terminators and the like that seem to be in style these days. Also helps negate FNP.

I don't like squadroning Speeders, but I'm out of FA slots and I'm loathe to give up a full unit ABs just to uncouple them. ABs are probably one of the best units I have. Mebbe its alot of practice with them over the years.

I like the suggestion on the second plasma cannon. I'll fiddle with the list tonight and see if I can squeeze out the 5 points somewhere without my weird symmetry OCD kicking.

Do y'all consider six possible scoring units enough at 2000 points? I generally prefer the extra tactical squad to get to 8 and relying on shooting to deal with line breakers but I do have a HF/PC dread I could bring in along with possibly a small unit of sniper scouts to replace a tac squad.

I think 6 scoring units is enough at 2000 points, they are SM after all, not guard! Speaking of guard, I responded to that thread about the WW1 army you're making, PanzerLeader: awesome idea!

Libby is ok
Tacticals with Razors are ok I guess…I just don’t like the price tag on those weapons.
Heavy support is ok.
Fast attack is all fine.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

Very shooty list. Your entire close combat is 4 sgts with power fists and the libby. In general I think close combat is KING in 5th edition. You don't really have unit to get into close combat. I could see Genestealers just rushing the exposed tac squads that don't have transports, with nothing to fight them off.

8 Lascannons is nothing to discount, but none are twin linked. If your dice luck leaves you for a turn they won't do much.

Why go with Las/Plasma? To use both you have to be stationary, to get the most out of the plasma gun you have to be within 12 inches. I don't know about you but I'm not going have my razorback sitting still with an eneny unit within 12 inches. Twin linked lascannons or even twin linked assault cannons are better weapons for the same points level IMO.

The Lascannon/TL-Plasmagun turret is all about utility. Against Plague Marines, there is no better -- 3 FNP ignoring, high strength shots. I've always found twin-linking on Lascannons a waste at BS4, honestly. I'd rather have the Las for long range transport killing early in the game, and get a mobile twin-linked plasmagun that can't Get Hot on me for close defense later in the game.

@ murdog---Yup, saw your response in the other thread. I've got a go to start getting models next month as an early Christmas present so that will be happening, hopefully in time to be finished by late spring/early summer.

@ asugradinwa---General Retreat pretty much nailed why I like las/twin-plas. It gives me long range depth in the early shooting game and adds an extra twin-linked, AP2 shot up close when I need to move and fire. There are times I let the vehicle sit still to take all three shots, depending on the situation. A couple of people who deep struck sternguard near the razorbacks and ignored them in favor of the Predators were unpleasantly surprised when two nearby Razorbacks ruined the squad. My general philosophy is to shoot up assault units to pieces so that my Libby and a combat squad or two can finish them off in assault if needed.
