So I was rummaging around in my miniature cases and boxes and such and found out that I have a lot of chaos marine related stuff, and more specifically, found most of my old 4th Ed. Death Guard army (y'know, when Death Guard was it's own army....?) and I thought about how much more survivable they are nowadays thanks to the FNP. I was kicking around getting them back on the table for a game or two, but we're doing 1000pt games and they're so very pricey! I mean, I calculated out:

x10 Plague Marines: Plague Champion w/Power Fist, x2 Plasmaguns.
x10 Plague Marines: Plague Champion w/Power Fist, x2 Plasmaguns.
X10 Plague Marines: Plague Champion w/Power Fist, x2 Meltaguns.

This comes to 890pts I do believe. That only leaves 110pts. I could throw in a nekkers Daemon Prince, but is it worth it? I figured I could also make one squad have x8 instead of x10 and add 46pts to be used on whatever. Obviously Troops are totally necessary in 5th Ed., and my buddy's Imp Guard army has 3 or 4 Troops units, which along with their tanks can really rain some firepower down on a more elite force, like what Im proposing.

Any ideas for Death Guard at 1000pts? Id really love to keep this Nurgle/Death Guard themed, and if it goes well work up to 1500pts and maybe even throw Typhus into the list later on.
Nurgle/Death Guard units I own that could be used are as follows:

x1 Sorcerer in Power Armor
x1 Chaos Lord in Terminator armor, with Lightning Claw and Power Weapon/Daemon Weapon (old conversion)
x1 Weeeeird Winged Daemon Prince

x7 Terminators w/ assorted weapons and a Reaper Autocannon
x2 Dreadnoughts, 1 w/ TL Lascannon/DCCW, and 1 w/ Multimelta/Blank (can be either missle launcher of DCCW)

x50 total Plague Marines with assorted Flamers, Plasmaguns, Meltaguns and Bolters, and a mix of Champs w/ Power Swords and Power Fists. (Could potentially be used as Havocs or Chosen, but dont reeeeeeally want to lose the Plague Marine benefit.)
x3 Rhinos w/assorted weapons (havoc launchers or COmbiBolters/Weapons.
x14 (I believe) Lesser Daemons (since Plaguebearers are pretty much out of the Codex)

No Fast Attack

x2 Defilers w/ Reaper Autocannons, Heavy Flamers, and DCCWs
x1 Predator w/ Autocannon/Lascannon sponsons

So, and Lords of Nurgle have any ideas?

Wow, wall of text.

1000 is pretty hard for any CSM list IMO.
For those 30 Plague marines….. consider 7 or 8 man squads, 10 (what I use) is somewhat an inefficient number in terms of offensive power.
I would suggest a ratio of 2 melta squads to plasma.

Daemon princes should not be used without wings.

If Death Guard is the goal: 7 man squads.

My 7 second list is as follows:

Daemon Prince, wings
7 PMs, 2 meltas, fist, rhino.
7 PMs, 2 meltas, fist, rhino.
2 Oblits.
2 Oblits.

But since you have 2 defilers, that could replace the 4 oblits.

This is truth. Fitting pretty much anything you want is a pain in the arse it seems for 1k CSM armies.

That doesnt sound too bad Sanctjud, Ill have to give that a shot. I actually do have the Oblits but they're not really theme related (as great as deep striking twin linked meltaguns is) and I do have the 2 Nurgle Defilers that havent seen action in like....3 or 4 years haha.

Any other suggestions?
