So lately I took a gander athe firep risms in my eldar codex once more, and after looking through some advice on how to use land raiders and other heavy armor I've noticed that most don't count the Fire Prisms 60 inch range S10 AP1 shot. (Supposing you have more than one) That got me thinking...what is the best way to deal with these buggers? Drop pod in next to them? I mean if you charge they're probably going to blow you away with combined fire.
And for those of you who play Eldar...what do you find is the best way to deploy fire prisms to use them to their maximum potential while avoiding units aiming to destroy them?

Fire prisms use holofields and their range to prevent damage from shooting and their speed to prevent CC units from even hitting them.
To kill prisms you'll be best off getting close with melta. Drop podding in, DSing Land Speeders or zoom up the bord with ABs I guess. The +1 on the damage chart will kind of make up for the holofield plus the reliable pen when within half range. If you want to kill them with long range shooting use what you got. Anything S7+ can harm prisms, they'll just be able to shrug off most of any non AP1 fire by holofields. Example?
Let's go with a single ML shot from a tac squad:
1*2/3*1/3*1/2*1/2=2/36=5.55% (pen, immobilized+, holofield)
1*2/3*1/6*1/6*1/6=2/648=0.31% (glance, immobilized, holofield)
lascan would be slightly better thanks to S, but who fields those?
Compared to the melta at half range:
1*2/3*5/6*2/3*2/3=40/162=24.69% (pen, immobilized+, holofield)
1*2/3*1/12*1/3*1/3=2/324=00.62% (glance, immobilized+, holofield)
Slightly better chances for the meltagun

Hmm that sounds like a rather sound strategy. It just bothers me that they have a 60 inch range and the list I'm thinking of using doesn't have much that can close that quickly...

It's a 6x4 board.
Lascannons and MM's on fast moving platforms.
It shouldn't be too hard.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

Or just get your Land Speeders (with Multi-melta) within 12". Most people take Fire Prisms without any upgrades, so penetrating and destroying a Fire Prism within Melta range shouldn't be too hard.
As an Eldar player myself, I can say that the most dangerous units (to my Fire Prisms) are usually the fast moving units with Melta weaponry. The shake and move on tactic is also fairly annoying to play against, as it reduces the total damage output of the Fire Prism by 50% (will usually be shaken once in every two turns, as a shaken Fire Prism will probably hide from fire to be able to fire again the next turn).

IMO, I think you should be more worried about the rest of the Eldar list than 2 prisms...
Like others have said, glance and move on.
If everything else in the Eldar list is soft and squishy then go for the Prisms with more zeal... melta weapons are ace at getting those skimmers down, even with Energy Fields or HoloFields... they offer little help vs. AP1 in my experience.
