I thought about buying a few of these for christmas, but I dont know exactly how they work, and how good are they in combat. I was thinking of putting a lobba on them and filling them with mega nobs. I also wondered if it can ram vehicles. If so how is it figured up

They're used as Gargantuan Creatures, so if it assaulted a vehicle, it would attack it just as if it were any other non-vehicle model.

OR you can ram a vehicle, using AV14 and a 12" move. it can also Massacre any kind of infantry you can think of in CC, (barring SS termies) 'cause of the stomp rule. It is ridiculously hard to kill, and the Supa Lobba is quite effective against infantry. It does have an init. of 2 though, so I would be careful with it. WS isn't great either, though every model you hit will die. I think I would get maybe one and then some Looted super-heavy tanks and stompas to go alongside. It doesn't have a lot of fiepower.

It is super coollooking and fun to play, but not as points effective as a stompa, plus the thing costs a bloody fortune. Great centrepiece, not so great for actual fighting, hard to kill, guns are heh, CC is meh, transport is useful, but there is no reason to drop that many points on a transport.

- Orks, 4175 points
- The face of an opponent when you lose five dozen models and say "that's it?", priceless. |

Ok see i have played a few apoc games now verse orks, I just dont have the apoc units to play effectively orks. In my experience, Stompas die fast, and cost a lot. Sure they do good range damage, but you lose at least 1 a turn or more. Last time I personally killed with my 2 squads of broadsides 2 stompas, and that was in the first 2 turns. I also have noticed the utter effectiveness of mega nobs. So i am thinking you charge say 3 or 4 of them across the board full of meganobs and enjoy the looks on your foes face. Support it with some looted wagons and i think thats game. Also, how can they move 12 inches, I see they move 6 in movement and 6 to assault. I am guessing you tank shock the 6 then assault somthing behind them on the there 6. What is the stomping feet rule, I dont find it anywhere?

All Gargantuan creature move 12". They also get he Stomp rule, and count as Ordnance in CC. I don't think you should have been killing stomps that fast. Even assuming all of the shots hit, you would still have to have ridiculously good luck to give 2 vehicles with 4 Structure Points each. The Stomp rule gives you 1 strength D attack against every model in base contact.

The thing that the gargantuan squiggoth has is it is a shooting magnet for the entire game, and wont die. I played against a guy that had 2, and the only way I was able to actually kill one was a vortex grenade. The other one had 2 wounds left.

Can i have your dice?
last Appoc game i had there were three stompas and i only managed to kill one and almost kill another.
And I had 3 vortex grenades.
Before you say you can only have one in a game I have the answer. Titan Hammer formations

Yeah this was the TH formation. Understand that they were marklighted up by my 3 pathfinder squads so you got all of the broadsides squads shooting at 5 and that is twinlinked glancing on 3s. You can pop one with 4 hits which i think that game i had 5 pins with said stats. Sure I rolled pretty good but it didnt have to be that good. I guess i just like the 8 wounds on the gigantic squigoth.
Anyone know how the stomping feet thing works or how many attacks the model gets on a charge?

it would still get only +1 attack on the charge unless it has a special rule.

I do not think you get a charge bonus if you stomp IIRC.

Its in the Apoc rulebook. Basically, you get one attack for every model you are engaged in combat with. As long as the unit doesn't have invulnerable saves, any model you hit dies instantly. Only Invulnerable saves or Eternal warrior can hope to protect you. Against vehicles, you penetrate automatically. For example, a unit of 16 Chaos Space marines is engaged in combat with Ann'grath, after falling out of favour with their Daemonic allies. He elects to stomp them, and since all of them are engaged, he gets 16 attacks. He is WS10, so he is hitting on threes. He score eleven hits, so eleven models are removed. Next turn, a Daemon prince charges into combat with him. He stomps again, getting 6 attacks (5 for the marines and one for the 'prince). This turn he is lucky and rolls 6 Hits. The Daemon Prince has a Mark of Tzeentch, so rolls his 4+ Invulnerable save, but fails. Due to the Eternal warrior rule, he takes a single wound. Had he been a Chaos Lord and Lacked Eternal Warrior, he would of been killed on the spot. If you want any more info, feel free to drop me a PM
