So yesterday was the LA Bunkers "Birthday" and they gave away a bunch of stuff... I was lucky enough to get a box of the old black orcs with 2 hand weapons. Normally I paint the black orcs in my army in a really chipped and scratched red but the theme of my army has changed to where it is many mobs banded together under control of Grumlok and Gazbag (since his actual lore explains that he conquered immense amounts of orc warbands to form a uge army!).

So these orcs are planned to be different... Im stuck between a yellow as if they came from a bad moons army or a goldish armoured color.

If I did the goldish look (which im leaning towards since Im not experienced at painting yellow... although I do need to learn some time eh?) Id probably do a boltgun metal basecoat with multiple washes of devlan mud (I saw someone else do this and it had a really nice golden look to it). This would also give it some lightlights and what not and I could still add some boltgun metal chips/scratches!

What do you guys think?

*Still cant believe I got some old black orcs! I even was able to trade some high elf character I won, for the old black orc command (the one with the pole going up a dwarfs arse for a bunner) to go with it!!!*

Boltgun then devlan mud will give a very nice metallic effect, but not very 'golden'. Maybe mix boltgun with one of the gold colours for the basecoat? Or just use a gold or brass basecoat.
