hi folks! i just started a traitor guard army for which i will use the imp guard codex. So far i have 10 "zombies" (dont know for what I'm gonna use it) and 36 Mutants (Probably gonna be Penal troopers or conscripts. +I also started on my normal platoon command squad From which I just finished converting the officer(Still gotta paint it). Sorry, today no pics as i still have to take pictures of 'em. For the zombies and the mutants I'm going to use a random color scheme for each model. but here is my question: What color scheme should i use for the 'normal' guys?

Will largely depend on the effect you want.

Do you want "normals" to stand out from the mutants (contrasting colors
from the mutants' main color palette) or blend in (variant of mutants' main color palette)

Well red is a classic, if overused option. I used a black/Bronze & red colour scheme, infilTRATIOR has done a much more effective 'heavy weathered' blue/grey
.

Yeah use red for a blood pact or the new and highly popular shadow grey/badab black/codex grey drybrush method...i use the latter and it's looking pretty good for my army so far...

w00t! I get a shout-out!!

I went with red when I started making my army three-four years ago then every Tom, Dick and Harry started doing red (thank you very much, Mr. Abnett) so I changed to a codex grey scheme but still keeping the odd bit of red in there in honour of my old scheme.

Black or charcoal is a good choice for traitors; it looks the part and not over-done. Also, black is the colour of choice in many stories about 40k penal legions.

Another option may be that they were once loyalists and are still using their old fatigues. That's the beauty of traitor guard - anything goes!

@r3n3g8b0y - can we see some of your stuff soon?

Armies:
(CSM/HH) - Iron Warriors; Death Guard; World Eaters; Night Lords
IG - Vestfalian Expeditionary
Force (Solar Auxilia - HH)
SM - Blades of Inaros (Homebrew)
DE - Kabal of Ouroboros

yeah infilTRAITOR i agree, i am planning on letting them keep their old fatigues (but with the ragged and weathered and chaos looking things) + I will also try to get a Nurgle feel in my army.
