Hey folks. I've got my first 2000 point tournament coming up (my first tournament, actually) and I'm trying to decide what to take with me. Here's what I have.

HQ:
2x AoBR Warbosses, unmodified
Ghazkull Thrakka
One warboss w/bosspole, mega-armor.
Big Mek w/SAG
Big Mek w/KFF and Power Klaw

Elites:
Lootas x12
Burnas x5 (plus 7 burna weapons in Bitz box), which I can use as Kommando Burnas

I've got two weeks, so I can do SOME modifications to my boyz before the tournament to get them fighting fit. I also have a very large pile coming in from a trade, but I was told it was sent super slow shipping, so I can't count on it. I'd love some feedback.

Now why the 2 Warbikes? Seems to me like they'll die befor they can do anything useful.

158 grotz??? someones been busy lol but seriously they make good Objective grabers and meat shields for da boyz.

In those slugga boyz don't use big shootas there not even worth the points since you'll be running your shooting phase.

try to get those deffkoptas up to three and see if you can model a buzz saw

2000 points total, pretty easily set up from the bits and such I have. Thoughts?

Looks pretty solid.

Might I suggest droping the ard boyz armour. It doubles their points and most things penatrate it anyways. Mabye drop some points here and there to grab another KFF big Mek, but otherwise sounds good to me. Good luck.

Also you should either go all out gunny or choppy don't try to mix it too much as you will loss your specialization, drop the hard boyz armor boost the boyz to 30 also I don't see too much of a need for Ghazghkull Thrakka unless your running a big horde army but in this list I suggest you drop him and spend the points else where.

I strongly agree with Guttrench Skullsmasha, gaz is loads of fun, and nigh unkillable, but at 225 points and slow and purposful, people tend to ignore him. Save him for larger games, pick up a heavy support, I suggest killa kanz with either skorcha for the choppy army, or grotzooka for shooty.

I'd like to point out first that Killa Kans are not an option. I'm drawing from the list in the original post, I'm not looking to spend another $150. This is not "build my army," this is "build my army from the list provided."

Ghaz has his place, and to me, it seems to be with some Kommandos. He makes a great anti-tank surprise weapon, and since the entire unit has move through cover, the unit can come in from reserve and attack from up to 30" from any table edge (average 20").

That said, the only thing I'm actually not 100% on is Ghaz, and the Deffkoptas. A Mega-Warboss with an Attack Squig and Cybork body is roughly the same stats and almost 85 points cheaper, minus the special Waaagh!, and the immunity to Instant death. One unit of three Deffkoptas seems relatively ineffectual. If I drop them both, that's 235 points which I could put towards another unit of Boyz.

I'm going to play-test the army as is, and make adjustments. I'm hoping to get at least four games in between now and the tournament in two weeks, and I'll see how it goes.
