Hi all - second try at posting - not sure what I did with my last in the painting forum but most of the message and pictures didn't appear.
Anyway here's a few pics if anyone's still interested in the old stuff. I'm putting together an old Wood Elf Army partly as a nostalgia trip but also gives me an opponent and an excuse to do something about all the old 3rd ed. orcs I've got that have been sadly neglected for many a year!
So far I've got a couple of Wardancers done (more to come)
A Wood Elf sorceress (apparently an old Citadel Dark Elf I'm told!) and her Were-fox familiar -
and a Zoat!
Currently working on the very old Citadel Treeman and have various animal handlers, shapeshifters, Skarloc's archers, and a champion mounted on an eagle to come. Where possible I've tracked down the old Jes Goodwin sculpts on Ebay - watch this space...
Exactly. Those are some of the same wood elves I had so long ago, the ones that were so obviously done by whoever sculpted the first Eldar for 40K. You can tell by the chainmail pants. I especially like the sorceress, she fits in more with a wood elf force than dark elves in my opinion. And a Zoat too! I would really like to see a shot of the whole army together.
The old Wardancers were why I wanted to start Wood Elves in the first place. The interested
faded with the next set of Wardancers, but then the most recent sculpts were released
and I got sucked in.
Nice work!

Another golden-oldie - a Citadel (I think..) Treeman. Quite fond of this chap not for the sculpt as he's not the most dynamic mini ever but he does bring back memories of setting my mate's treeman (he had the same mini) on fire with my Orcs every game we played when I were a lad and Warhammer was a little more light hearted!
The wardancers are some of the best figs from the 3rd Ed, I also have some in some forgotten box in storage. The zoat and old tree man look great too. Treeman is tiny compared to the current tho.
The bear is to follow once I've finished him off and I'm still hunting for a couple more of the old elven boars for my boar master. Quite happy with the dogs but the cats proved a bit trickier - bit more tigery than the Scottish wildcat effect I was attempting - dogs rule and cats drool, although they look very fetching with their earrings!!
Another addition to the army - Skarloc off of Skarloc's Wood Elf Archers - great Regiment of Renown from the 80s!
Rest of the unit is in the paint queue...
