Here is my idea for dreadclaw (DC). Army: csm points: 75 unit type: skimmer, tank has av of 12 all around unit size: 1-3 (count as single fast attack choise) has tl bolter Dreadclaw is a droppod that enters game via deepstrike. Once DCs are avaible from reserve they are deployed within 12" of each other. Models within DC may assault turn they come in play. Terminators count as two models and dreadnought counts as 10, no obliterators or deamons can be embarked in DC. DC can deepstrike on models. Against vehicles strike count as str 10 tank ram and against infantry as 2d6 str 10 attack tank shock. DC can be armed with tl heavy bolter with 10 points, reaper autocannon with 10 points or with heavy flamer for 5 points.

Every time I hear "in my opinion" or "just my opinion" makes me want to strangle a puppy. People use their opinions as a shield that other poeple can't critisize and that is bs.
If you can't defend or won't defend your opinion then that "opinion" is bs. Stop trying to tip-toe and defend what you believe in. |

You need to actually make complete rules or it''s very hard to judge them. Assuming they're light tanks like flying rhinos they're far too powerful.
You need to remove the dropping onto people rule and the assaulting out of them rule. Which basically makes them pointless.

DC is an assault drop pod that only csm use and it just seems locical that csm would try to squash units when DC enters to battle. Note that tank ramming is going to hurt DC too.

@Aramoro; I don't believe illuknisaa intends Dreadclaws to move after they have entered play. Or at least, I hope not.
Of course, it therefore doesn't make much sense that they have the "skimmer" type if they can't move. . .

The whole point of the dread claw is to be able to assault out of it.
I also agree with Drop pods being able to tank shock. I can argue for or against ramming but tank shock should most definately be permitting. I think the Forge World rules permit the DC to be shot at prior to disembarking the unit within.

Well for a starters its not a drop pod, it's a skimmer tank so it can move after it comes into play. And it's not tank shocking, 2D6 St10 hits does not a tank shock make. It makes it a unit for murdering lightly armoured troops. I assume the capacity is 10 , so 5 termies or 10 berserkers.
Yes I can see that having an assault drop pod for chaos sounds like a great idea, but there's a reason they don't exist already, and that's game balance. Giving some of the best CC troops in the game an auto route into combat is overpowered.

Maybe we can have drop-pod rules that turn into skimmer tank rules only on the turn following its introduction into the battlefield. That'd make a commander think twice before getting his troops in the middle of the action but leaving them open to attack for a whole turn....Might make it bit more balanced, but Aramoro was right.

Forge World != actual rules. just glorified Homebrew.
Having read the rules for the forge world Death Claw I don't see why there's need for another iteration of it that's made a lot better. If you want Death Claws then use the Forge world one.

Use the Forge World rules instead of taking the rules from:
- Deff Rolla
- Skimmers
- Drop Pods
- special assault-variant Drop Pods
Because you basically ripped the best rules from each, made it a unit that is way underpriced, and then presented the rules.
