Human Auxiliary to the Empire

Hello all,
I need a little help on the rules of the Tau empire Crisis Suits, if i promote one to leader, it says:
One Shas'ui per team may be designated as a team leader at +5 points, and may select items from the battlesuit wargear list.
and at the equipment section it says that there is a maximum of 3 items you can choose.
Do hard wired items from the wargear list count towards the 3 item maximum?

Hard wired systems can be taken in addition to the 3 selections you are forced to take.

No, underneath the battlesuit armoury are the rules for hard-wired systems, which says that they "do not count towards the number of support systems a battlesuit character can take." Hope this clarifies it for you.

There are three columns. The first is weapons, the second is support systems and the third is "Hard-wired" systems. Only Shas'vre models or higher (or Shas'ui team leaders) can take the hard-wired systems, but they do NOT count towards the required three hard-point systems. Many hard-point systems have a hard-wired alternative, but some do not.

For instance, a regular Shas'ui XV-8 can only take two weapons and a multi-tracker if he wants to shoot both weapons on the same turn, but a Shas'vre can take two weapons and a hard-wired multi-tracker, allowing him a third hardpoint slot for a shield generator or targeting array, both of which do not have a hard-wired alternative.

Generally speaking, hard-wired systems do not have to be represented on the model to be WYSIWYG, but I recommend painting bonding knives on your Team Leaders.

Actually, the third column is mostly hard-wired stuff, but it's wargear. Drones aren't hard-wired and can be taken by anyone with a drone controller, not just Shas'ui TL or higher. But only Shas'ui TL or higher have mostly free access to the wargear list.
