So, put together one of each now. Kit is comprised of just two sprues, which is kind of nice. The main parts are the two sides, which require a little awkward cleaning if you are determined to get shot of the mould lines. Took me about 5 minutes per side to be happy with it. The actual structure itself goes together very nicely. You have the wheel chassis, and two cross pieces which hold the beast together. Pay attention to the instructions though, as the cross sections have tabs on them to support the front and back platforms! I would very much reccomend putting together the two archways next, and allowing to dry thoroughly. These slot into holes created when you put the other half of the foundation stones, but fit very snugly. I found this out the hard way when I did the Screaming Bell, and as such is sits about 5mm higher than it should! Avoided this on the Furnace by doing the archway first, then inserting whilst the foundation stones were drying. And on the subject of the foundation stones, take care when clipping them out, as the ropes tying them to the structure are pretty thing, and could easily be snapped. Once attached though, provided you put a dab of glue on the rope to rope contact points, they are fine and strong. Now, the rear platform is double sided. Had to squint a bit at the instructions to see which side is for which build. Put simply, the side with the Chain is for the Rat Ogre (And thus the Bell) and the side with the Ropes is for the Plague Furnace (and thus the Monks). Both sides have lovely peg holes on them, meaning whomever is doing the ringing/swinging, stands in the right place. Positioning of the bell and censer is pretty straight forward, once you have the crew glued in (thankyou for the pegholes once again!). The chains/ropes fit in nicely, and hold the implement at the right angle. I didn't bother gluing the bell or censer in place myself, and you get enough give in the archway assemblies to prise them apart to fit the spar in. Only thing I found a little odd fit wise was the Plague Priest. Put the head on first, then the RIGHT hand side (the one without the staff, clutching the censer) first. There is a small hole in the hood for his horn to poke through. The other side of the cloak is where I found it a little odd, as it doesn't sit where you might think. However, just make sure it lines up with the other half of the cloak, and it will all be good. Other than that, a lovely kit to put together, and my word they look impressive! Base is a new size, being wider than a Chariot base (width is equal to 3 small bases, length to 5). I have my Bell escorted by Stormvermin, and due to the positioning of the Halberds, it's best to have those holding them at ease either side of the Bell. One last thing....I have often found large plastic kits to have one or two areas where the model joins the sprue in awkward places. I didn't notice any on this kit, except with the possible exception of the small censers on the main assembly. You will require a good, sharp hobby knife to deal with these, otherwise they might be difficult. Any questions?
