Since I've already got a bunch of Valkyries and I'm wanting to make Manticores, I'm thinking of using the Hellstrike missiles that came with the Valk as the missiles for the Manticore. I'm just wondering if they'll look too small for the job. Can anyone with a FW Manticore and a plastic Valk give me an idea of the size comparison between the Hellstrike and Storm Eagle missiles?

They look to be far too small from just looking at a few different images on the net but I may be wrong.

Since GW doesn't supply a model, you should be able to do whatever you want. GW will have to say either "okay" to everything or "no" to everything as they don't have a model for it.

That is making the rather large assumption that GW will follow logic, that is.

I mean, I realize that since GW doesn't supply a model for it that I've got pretty good latitude to do what I want with the model. Prior to my thoughts on the Hellstrike missiles, I'd be planning on using Whirlwind turrets on a Chimera to represent my Manticores, but I came to realize that this might be a cheaper option as I've already got most of the missiles I need to make it work.

That said, I've looked at a few pics of FW Manticores and I think the Hellstrike might be a few mm shorter and a couple mm smaller in diameter than the Storm Eagles, but if anyone out there can confirm this, I'd appreciate it.

I did the exact same thing with mine and they look fine. I painted them white so they stand out a little bit and it probably makes up for the their smallish size.

Aren't the larger missiles available from Forgeworld? Being a small and less popular product it would probably only take a couple weeks.

Dude seeing as there are no other tanks in the armoury that fit the description, I for one would not dispute WYSIWYG on that.

My Manticore only has three missiles, which is a bitch I'll agree, but it looks hench nonetheless.
