Well I'm getting back into playing I guess.

Anyone in the Northern Virgina/DC area up for a game at the Compleat Strategist, Game Parlor (Chantilly or Woodbridge) or GW Springfield?

40k or Star Wars miniatures.

Very cool. I'm in MI at the moment to be sworn in as an officer of this state's courts (just passed MI bar) but I moved back to Richmond not long ago and am planning to move to Frederickberg or perhaps closer to DC after my fiance graduates from lawschool this May.

I'm just too far away, in Annapolis, to get to the NoVA area for gaming much.

I know the IF League guys play every Tuesday and Saturdays at GP Chantilly. They also play at GP Woodbridge on Saturdays too.

Springfield GW is usally very busy. I plan to be there Friday night, maybe we can get a 40K game in.

I'm actually just getting into the hobby and looking for some friendly 40k and WHFB players myself.

My roommate and I play 40k and we're both undergrads at American University in NW Washington, DC. We're both moving to a new place next month and setting up our own 6x5 40k table and plan to have some weekend 40k parties there. I mostly go to Dream Wizards on the metro line (since I don't have a car here) in Rockville on Thursday nights but I heard The Complete Strategist has a good scene.

I'd be interesting to getting some games together, and maybe even going up to the Battle Bunker Glen Burnie on a weekend.

Note I'm much more in the DC/Bethesda Maryland area rather than the Northern Virgina area since the tariff and metro getting there is terrible.

I hate suburbia.

I do plan to visit the Complete Strategist regularly on Saturdays though next year.

The Fair Oaks mall GW is also a good place to be. They are one of the few locations open Monday nights and usually have a few people around for 40k those evenings. They are also running an all day event this Saturday (the 21st) that should be a bit crazy.

Also - they are next to a Chik-fil-a

This is a Warhammer gaming club in the Northern VA area. I think it's pretty close to where you are. They run tournaments every few months (2 last year) and are a great group of guys.

Another club is http://www.stonypointrefugees.com/ , a bunch of us that got abandoned when GW left Richmond formed a club and play on a regular basis at the three LGS' in Richmond as well as a garage we're renting for the purpose.

Eagle and Empire in Springfield is also good for Northern Virginia Gaming.

I got a few games at the Springfield GW, still haven't connected with the IFs.

Swing by E and E on Fridays, and you might meet some IFL'ers too. It's one of the Game Shops patronized!

Thumbs up to timewarpgaming.com as well. Very small, 4-5 tables and very loud, you have to use your bar voice as it seems a few of the players learned to play at a GW hobby center, but always able to get a game. Very much a hole in the wall in Ashland VA.

Just a note, if you use a GPS to find them, they're _BEHIND_ the Domino's in that strip mall. You can't see the store from the main road, but it's well worth finding.

wow i didn't know there were so many people that played in the area, i go to GMU and haven't been able to find anyone. I know there is the GW shop in the mall but it doesn't seem like an open gaming type of thing

I just checked out the shop in Garrisonville Saturdays is open game from 1200-6pm. Now that I am settled I am going to try and get a game. Snow may be an issue this weekend so plan for it.

E&E closes btw 9:30 - 10 pm on Friday nights depending on games. We try to wrap up by 9:30 so Doug can get some rest and folks can buy their headed out the door purchases as they're packing up. 2000 pts is the standard 40k game.

They also play FoW and Where Heroes Dare (new pulp game) on Wednesdays nights.
In addition to WHFB Thursday nights, they are also running Wargods of Aegyptus escalation league.

WED, THUR and FRI gaming starts at around 7pm (minis on table and ready to roll) and ends around 9:30 - 10 as above. Hope to see you there.

That's doable, sometime after the SNOWPOCALYPSE ends.
