- To win any prize, all models in a player’s army MUST be painted to a 3 color minimum standard. If your army is not painted to this standard and you happen to win, your prize will go to the 2nd best and so on.
- Players may use Forge World model(s) to represent a unit from their codex.
- The “What You See Is What You Get” (
WYSIWYG) rule will be followed.
- Bring your army’s codex, dice, templates, pen/pencil, and anything else you normally need to play.
- A separate printed army list is required for the judge and each opponent (5 copies total).
- Judge's rulings are final.
BATTLE POINTS:
Missions will be based on a slightly different system than the main rulebook missions. They’ll be very similar to what VirusSD1 proposed in his thread here
http://blacksungameschicago.com/forum/index.php?topic=1199.0 but with few tweaks. They will follow very closely Stelek’s tournament system from www.yesthetruthhurts.com which combines 5 kill points and 5 objectives into one mission.
Before play begins (after all deployment and scout moves), a player chooses 5 kill points from opponent’s army to be his kill points and vice versa.
Every game will also have 5 objectives. In general, one in each quarter and one in the table center. Capturing and contesting will be done in following way:
Scoring units (troops, but not those it says specifically that cannot score, or anything described as scoring in your codex) count as two. Non-scoring units (everything else) count as one. Whoever has highest total points with at least one scoring unit within 3” of the objective will claim it.
For example, I have a rhino (1 point, non-scoring) with a tactical squad (2 points, scoring) and a captain (1 point, non-scoring) inside it sitting on an objective. I count a total of 4 points and I can claim the objective since I have at least one scoring unit.. If my opponent has 2 Wave Serpents (1 point each, non-scoring), each with Fire Dragons (1 point each, non-scoring) inside, within 3” of the same objective, then he has a total of 4 as well, but he cannot claim it (no scoring units). However, since my total was not higher than his, I cannot claim the objective. My opponent successfully contested it..
Now, if one of the Fire Dragons was instead a unit of Guardians (2 points, scoring), then my opponent would have a total of 5 points and could claim the objective. In that case he would end up claiming it since his total was greater.
The above may seem complicated, but it really isn’t. Try it in a game or two, and you’ll get a hang of it. And post your feedback. I tried it and really liked it. Makes for a different, more intelligent game. If there is much negative feedback, I’m flexible to go with 5 objectives with regular
GW rules. However, post your feedback only after you tried it.
APPEARANCE:
Appearance will be judged by the three opponents, the judge, and one or two of the store owners, depending on their availability. As soon as I figure out the criteria, I will post them.
FAVORITE OPPONENT:
At the end of the tournament, each player will choose one of their opponents as their favorite opponent—the one they had most fun with and the one they would most gladly play again.
