So, with all of the nonsense going on recently about the way GW(TM) is throwing C&D letters around regarding its IP, I was thinking that instead of converting a Blood Bowl(TM) team from other GW(TM) Ork and Orc models, I would create a generic Fantasy American Football team using conversions of other companies' models. (Note; I am not so much angry at GW(TM) for protecting their IP, it is more the way in which they are doing it.)

I saw a fantastic site recently with miniatures for use in Elf Bowl recently, but now I can't find it. Anyway, the orc team they had there looked quite scraggly and wirey, rather than the bulky, heavy jawed, muscley look I like for my generic orcs.

I am happy to convert, but equally happy to use purpose designed models.

Of course, this means I would not be able to use my teams for playing Blood Bowl(TM), as that would upset GW(TM), and I certainly wouldn't be abe to use them for Blood Bowl(TM) in a GW(TM) store, but then, Specialist Games(TM) are banned in every GW(TM) store I know anyway...

Impact miniatures is probably what you are looking for.

Here's a link that can give you a bunch of stuff.

Though I do not know how many links are broken since GW's C&Ds went out.

But, honestly, I would use WHFB minis and convert.

The BB stuff is old as dirt, and most no longer fit the look of the current army they are linked to.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

I was originally planning to use a combination of WFB character Black Orcs, the Black Orc boxed set, W40K Nobz and W40K Boyz to fill the various parts of my team.

As you say, the actual GW Orc team is AWFUL. It was bad even when it was brand new alongside similar sculpts from WFB, and now it just does not look right.

However, all of the minis in my collection are GW, and this seems like a good chance to branch out a bit.

Neomics makes some great generic fantasy football figures for Orcs. I know that Impact! plans on adding them to the store this weekend (ie 12/5 or 12/6).
