I want to get a friend involved in 40 but he is in a motorized wheelchair. There are some difficulties I see he has MD so moving models etc.. may be difficult as well as setting up the table so he has easy access .
Does anyone ply with someone who is disabledand what would make the game easier // more compliant for him.
I jut thought it would be something he was interested in but I don want to suggest it and I want to hedge off any problems that may come up

it would probably be easier to play at a house than a game store... most are rather crammed, from what I see, and would probably be difficult to move around.
I frequently play while sitting down, so it shouldn't be THAT difficult for your friend to play in a wheelchair. Just make the table low enough that you can reach halfway across it while sitting, and don't use any tall buildings or terrain that would block his sight from eye level.

If he has some space, like a garage, all he needs is a low, sturdy table - like a thick sheet of wood raised to the correct height on cinderblocks. Make it high enough that he can reach everything near his side of the board without leaning too far down out of his chair, and low enough that he can reach the middle by leaning right over and supporting himself w/one hand on the table (which is why it has to be sturdy)
Hope I made that clear - basically by making a different height table, he should be able to manage fine. Be a little bit of a back strain for his opponents, they'll just have to learn to sit down while not moving stuff.

Maybe you could use a computer based system to help him see the whole table, or show where he wants models moved too if he cant reach?
Or theres the good old fashoned skirmish game, or things like space hulk where you don't need a whole table and 100's of minis to have a good time!!

A gamer in Brisbane was wheelchair bound for many years (long before I knew him) and played both 40k and WHFB at tourneys and clubs and never once had a problem.

I saw a guy with a paralyzed arm/shoulder playing horde Orks at a tourney. He got to round 4 at least in each. If that's possible, I'd say it shouldn't be an issue.

I have a friend in a wheelchair with one arm and one leg. He gets around the game store and plays just fine. He only needs someone to move and pluck his minis for him if they are on the far side of the table. No problems.
He likes clicky games more though since they are more exact.

wow that's faster than any horde ork player i,ve ever seen, you would think that people with two arms would be able to finish the game

If you just ask the store owners they should try to accommodate, I have 2 bad knees from my time in the marines and I've never had one say I cant steal a painting chair to sit in while I play.
They should be fine with something like moving a table so his chair will fit on both sides.
