Chicks fighting...might be a good reason to start watching womens soccer.

No offence, but this just shows the level of the game in the US - every one of those off-the-ball incidents would be an instant sending-off offence in the average sunday league (i.e. Amateur) game here. How did the ref miss those?
The rules are simple - see that ball? Good, now kick it into that net.
The End.
None of what she did is part of the game. I've seen (and made ) some pretty nasty tackles - that IS part of the game. It's a 'man's' game - studs draw blood! But off-the-ball stuff? Hair-pulling? Nah.
Speaking as a referee-that kind of stuff is groxgak. That ref just either had no balls or had Assistant Refs who were just out of it. That kind of behavior has no place on the field.

Replace the uniforms with bikinis and punch up the sound and voice acting and that's one game that would have to be PC/mouse only, because it would need to be played with one hand free.
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

Whoa! Don't label the entire U.S. with that luggage! Sometimes the problem I have noticed is actually with the Refs, competent ones over the age of 25 seem somewhat hard to find. The game is not played like this here, just in her small corner. And yes, I agree, she was a nasty player in that game and certainly deserved to be sent off. Yeah, like you said, roughness is sometimes part of the game but she was consistently crossing lines in that match. That tackle alone was worth the red, never mind the other crap.

I didn't say it was right, just soccer IMO would be less boring if it didn't remind me of a game of billiards or golf.
Sometimes even with a very physical match up American football can be boring as hell too.

ya, there was a video of some mens ncaa game last month that went into a shootout the ref allowed both keepers to start pulling some ridiculous taunts/timewasting before each kick. totally amatuer by the ref to not call a thing. very embarassing. but the game has come a long way in our country and continues to get better and better every year.

@GoFenris - I wasn't suggesting that all americans where dirty players, mate. Sorry if I was a bit vague. What I meant was that the OVERALL standard of the game is lower in the states than it is in europe, hence the refereeing is a bit poorer. That's to be expected - Rome wasn't built in a day! I'm sure you'd probably say the same about a British game of American Football or Basketball...

QFT. My apologies for being bristly. I played since I was wee but I have to remind myself that on my old club team barely had enough players to even sub one guy and our crowds consisted of the odd parent arriving near the end to pick their kid up.

So far this year the quality of reffing has been really good in the NFC North. Some questionable calls in last weeks game (Vikes vs Lions) but I can't complain too much this year.
Sad thing is actually in American football they are starting to make just about every damn thing illegal to do. Pretty soon it's going to be illegal for the QB to actually pass the ball.
Meh.
