Hello all!

I am relatively new to both these forums and 40k in general. I started six months ago when a friend and coworker, who also works at my FLGS, introduced me to the hobby. After scouring the rule book and deliberating upon which army to start with, I chose Chaos Space Marines after reading this quote in the rule book:

"I murdered thousands for the Emperor and he gave me nothing but his damning silence. Now his lapdogs yap for every life I take, while the gods promise me the galaxy." - Svane Vulfbad

That attitude, coupled with a quick reading of their codex, sold it for me. Since then, I've acquired a fair number of minis and learned some painting techniques, both through experimentation and with the help of my friends. All along, however, my ability to purchase, assemble, and prime models has outpaced my ability to paint them - which is why I'm starting this blog. I have a 1500 point list that I am fairly happy with and is about 1/3 painted. My hope is that forcing myself to regularly update this blog will light a fire under my , so to speak. I'll feel more driven to paint consistently if I know I need to update the blog. My goal is to finish painting these models by Christmas. So without further ado, I shall thank you all in advance for reading and helping me stay motivated.

The List

HQ
Kharn the Betrayer
Greater Daemon

Elites
8 Chosen w/ 2 melta, 2 plasma, and a champion

Troops
8 Khorne Berzerkers - skull champion w/ powerfist, Rhino
8 Khorne Berzerkers - skull champion w/ powerfist, Rhino
10 Chaos Space Marines - champion w/ power sword, 2 melta, Rhino

Heavy
Vindicator w/ daemonic possession
Defiler (I'm probably going to switch this out for another vindicator or a predator, but I'm including because I want to paint it)

Some Pictures

The Infantry, plus a Greater Daemon who is half assembled (NEEDS MOAR HEADS)

The Vindicator is painted in pre-Heresy World Eaters colors because it's going to do double duty in another project. I also need one more Rhino

A Berzerker He's the standard to which I will paint the others and is the only model I consider "complete" (other than his base). The rest of the painted stuff still needs more detailing and washing.

Another angle, showing of his skull

Terminator (Just for fun, not in this list)

The color scheme for the standard marines - there is fluff related to the army that I may post at a later time which explains why they aren't painted in very Khorne-y colors. It has to do with the HQ unit, which I run using Kharn's rules but is not truly Kharn. More to come later on this.

This Week's Goal

I will start by finishing up the Chosen. I haven't gotten very far with them yet:

They'll be painted in a color scheme similar to the terminator pictured above. My goal is to paint this squad to completion by the end of the day next Thursday. Thanks again for reading, and as always, comments, criticism, and wishes of "Good luck!" are welcome and encouraged. BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD

Interesting work - I like the preheresy rhino too.

Will keep an eye on this stuff and keep collecting skulls!
