I'm not starting High Elves, but if I were to bring them to a tournament, what would you think of this list?

For 2500 you require 2 core choices, and I only see one.

I think you could tool your prince out a bit more. like the better dragon, better armor and such. The rerollable 2+ armor save and the 4+ ward save are a nice combo.

Also I dislike taking high elf units in such large blocks (minus spearmen). I would thin the PG down to 15. You also have very little variety in your units.

With dragon princes, I like to take the banner of Eilyron (the move across terrain without penalty). I think you need a bit more variety in your list for a tournament.

I'll re-work the Prince. I really didn't know what I had in mind with him.

The thing about the PG is that they're supposed to be able to suck up some wounds, because their main job is to pin the enemy in place.

Yes, Tiranoc and Lion Chariots are both a single choice per Special slot. The High Elves have more Special slots and Rare slots then other armies do at the same points level though.

About the list, I would really upgrade the Dragon to a Star Dragon. You need a second unit of Archers (minimum Core).

How would this list fight against a more shooty army (like Dwarfs or Empire)? It seems to me like all they would have to do is shoot the Dragon. Once that is down, you would have absolutely no chance against them.

The idea against gunlines was that I was going to use the Pheonix Guard's 4+ Wards to wade through the gunfire.

Basically, this entire list banks on those 4+ Wards...

Other than that though, it does basically lack variety.

HE Tournament lists tend to lack variety.

Really tough tourney list either #1 Stardragon or #2 Teclis
add 2-3 RBTs and Eagle(s)
20 Archers
Then probably either PG or WL
Probably DPs or Lion Chariot
Rest to suit you.
