Sorry for the newbie question but I gotta ask somewhere.....

Am I right in assuming that a command squad space marine does not get to use FNP if he suffers a wound from a GETS HOT Plasma?

You take FNP against any wound that isn't Instant Death, AP2, AP1 or a power weapon. That being said, yes I think you do get the FNP. That's why they take plasma on Chaos Plague marines.

Yes, you can use FnP. Gets Hot! allows armour saves, so you get FNP.

So the AP of a the weapon doesn't matter?

If you rapid fire and manage to roll a 1 and a 2+ to hit do you get to roll to wound the 2+ or does the get hot cancel out the shots?

The shots that hit are resolved as normal, as well as the wound taken from Gets Hot!. So for example, a Marine fires his plasma and rolls a 4 and a 1. The Roll of 4 hits, but he also takes a wound.
