I have a bench? I thought it was just a pile of stuff magically suspended in mid-air.

I work at my computer desk on that slide-out thing the keyboard would normally sit on. *raises eyebrow at everyone* Spare sprues are stored in their matching boxes in my closet and my paints/brushes are in the bottom of my filing cabinet beside me. I set things on top of the filing cabinent to try.

*looks around* I actually can't see any of it from here. Much like everything else it's just off to the side and can be summoned when needed. When actually working I have the sprue boxes open on my bed to my right, paints and such on the filing cabinet, and work at my PC desk.

I'm amazed at how complicated all the above setups are. Especially since I painted 89 models today.

"I drive a big car, cuz I'm a big star. I'll make a big rock-and-roll hit." "I am a big car, and I'm a strip bar. Some call it fake, I call it good-as-it-gets."

I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.

My set up isn't really "complicated", just messy. A place for everything, and nothing in it's place as it were.

Well for me, when we built the house, i wanted a den and got one, and the fact that i have all those paints kinda warrents the set up.
BTW: you will never need every colour from every mini paint suplier. That said i wouldnt mind tring out some of the P3 range. but owning 99% of the AV range is just silly. i think im over compinsating for something

As for complicated. not really just like everything else i do with the hobby, its fun and easy. (well most things are easy, i still cant wet blend)

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

Ok, so this is what I got. I took the hall linen closet over for all of my modeling needs.

Not the greatest custom spot, but at least I have a dedicated spot where I can dick around and leave stuff lying about.

You may use anything I post, just remember to give me credit if used somewhere else.

@Hawkins - What are you using to stack your paints in the second picture (right side of the table)? Those look better than the plastic racks I got at Home Depot.

I have now got 3 carousels though - 2 for vallejo and 1 for GW so they are a bit more spread out.

Oh, I like those carousels, been meaning to get one, but I can't find anyone stocking them in Europe.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

I just bought mine online from the warstore in the US, shipping was not too bad and the exchange rate took care of the worst of the cost.

my workbench right now is the workbench at the local GW. I'll probably build a proper workbench downstairs next summer-ish when I tackle remodeling the basement.

honestly I have found a really cheap and good starter work bench is just go to either office max or staples or whatever and just get a cheap $30 buck folding table. It's great cause you care less if you spill on it or scrape it what have you, also have a vacum cleaner near by to clean up the residue from filing.
