Nurgle Veteran Marine with the Flu
|
Well, I am starting a Guard army, and I am going to use Crapachans and some GS to make some Valhallans. Though I love the look of the Valhallans, I wanted an almost completely DIY force.
Thus I thought of my homeland, Armenia.
And came up with the idea of making an IG army of Hand-me-down military gear, much like the Armenian military.
Thus, Arvos was born! This small planet is located in Segmentum Obscurus, between the four systems of Valhalla, Krandor, Coronius Agathon, and Ornsworld. Fluff for my regiment is below.
The Arvon 350th
Imperial guard Rifle Battalion with Armoured support.
-Discovery and takeover of Arvon-
The world of Arvon was discovered in late M39, by a Mechanicus Research Legion that was looking for a new world to test weapons on. The planet they discovered had an ancient Standard Template Machine on it, which provided the blueprints for more robust and reliable engines. Though upon further inspection of the planet, the Mechanicus found it teeming with human civilization, which had technologies that could almost match that of a regular cardinal world. When the Mechanicus team first went Planetside, they were met by the planet's own technicians. Soon the Mechanicus knew everything they needed to know about the planet.
The people of the newly designated 145.35674 were trying to reverse-engineer the Standard Template Machine found on it. This was heresy in the highest degree, and soon a battle broke out between the people of 145.35674 and the Mechanicus Skitarii legions. Even with the advanced engineering of the Skitarii, the Mechanicus knew they would lose quickly if aid was not sent. An astropathic message was sent to Mars, and the full might of the Omnissiah readied for war.
By the time the Mechanicus reinforcements were raised, though, the people of what they called Arvon were winning, destroying much of the Skitarii as they landed. Rockets teared the sky asunder with their explosive force, and every able-bodied human being was put into the defence. Soon, they were challenging the fleet above to surrender, or be destroyed.
This was taken as an insult towards the Omnissiah, and now mercy would be spared. When the fleet, which was composed of three Guard Regiments, Two Titan Legios, a Space Wolf Grand Company, and twenty Skitarii legions, arrived, no mercy was spared. THe first units to enter battle were the Three units of Imperial guard, which were soon bogged down in cityfighting and lengthy sieges of the planet's citadels, which dotted the planet like a disease. Soon, the Guard regiments were being slowly driven back, and again the people of Arvon challenged the ships within range, and told them to surrender.
The only ship within range was the Space Wolves Tenth Grand Companie's flagship Spirit of the Wolf
Soon, the whole company boarded their Dropships, and were hurtling towards the planet. After the Space wolves cleared a beach head, the Titans and Skitarii legions were brought in. The whole planet looked on as one of the few Emperor-Class titans, the Emperor's Sheild came down slowly onto the planet. soon all ranks of the Arvon Military was fearful of this true god that stalked their planet. All fights were mainly centered around this avatar of the Omnissiah, Space marines clashed with the footsoldiers of the Arvon military, and armoured duels broke out amongst the two foes.
The climax of this battle was when the Emperor's Sheild, along with the Space wolve's Tenth Company, and two Skitarii legions, had surrounded the Capitol-Citadel of Yorn. This citadel was set atop the mountain range of Cantras, and as soon as the Emperor-Titan was in range, every piece of armour and every Fighter opened up, and after three hours of shelling from over and estimated seven hundered batteries, the void sheilds that kept the Titan, and the Battle group around its feet, safe died. It was then that the Arvon Ace-in the hole was played.
The remaining aircraft, wether it was for military private or commercial uses, were sent into an attack run. Fighters flew in and opened holes on the blind-spots of the Titan's legs with nuclear warheads. The commercial planes flew into these holes, the planes packed with explosives. The Emperor Titan then fell, crushing over twenty thousand Skitarii, and a large number of Space Wolves. Though this did buy them time, the attack wasn't stopped, only redoubled. The rest of the Legio was sent, and soon the Citadel was cracked open, and the leaders of this planet defenseless.
When the last of the resistence was mopped up, the Space wolves lined up outside the Capital building. The planets leader, Vaulton Targissian, walked down, straight to the leader of the Tenth company, and thrust out his hand. The leader of the Space wolves leaned down, dwarfing the stocky man, and shook his hand.
Vaulton was summarily executed two days later, but his planet's culture survived.
The inhabitants of Arvon were spared and allowed time to rebuild, with the help of the Imperium of Man. They are now paying for the Imperator class titan that they destroyed with fresh recruits for the Guard. All means of machinery, equipment, electrical devices and the such are made of the remains of the Immovable remains of the Emperor class Titan. Gear that cannot be scavenged from the Emperor class titan are provided from nearby planets. Blueprints for vehicles and even training come from the surrounding systems, that mainly being Valhalla. The mechanicus has come half way with the Arvonians, as they share their love for the machine, represented by the fact that many vehicles on the battlefield are heavily upgraded to the Arvonian standards.
Though Arvon has been forgiven by the Imperium, the Space Wolves hold them in a low respect for them, that is only held by the fact that they had the guts to challenge them, and destroy the Titan.
I want some feedback on this. Be as picky as possible, as I think that the last part is a little unreasonable.
Cheers,
Alex.
