First time using this fire retardant foam its super brittle but once you get a solid coat of white wash on it its good.

The last picture looks a bit to square to my taste, but I have to say it looks pretty good in the other pictures.

realgenius posted some tips on working with pink foam, I'm not sure it's the same material you're using, but many of the techniques should be similarly useful.
