Ok so Ive tried multiple different Water effects however I must say that the GW one is by far the best (wait... did I actually just say GW makes a product better then others? oh gawd...)

However their Water Effect is too far out of my price range since I would like to start using ALOT of it... Does anyone know where I can buy equivilant water effects for cheaper?

I use the woodland scenics water products. They have realistic water, water effects and EZ water. I find all are better than the GW product. They are cheaper and are very simple to use

Johnson's Klear. Works for puddles, not really for running water. It does work that way, but requires much patience.

Question about water effects, do they withstand models that are placed on them, or will
heavy models leave an imprint of their base in the goo?

Water affects can withstand heavy models after it drys... if you try to put it on there before it drys it probably wont...

I think Ive tried woodland scenic water effects and wasnt very happy... I like how GW stuff is really watery and makes ez lakes and stuff where it seemed the woodland stuff was meant to be pushed around it a rough watery area or the like... Is there different kinds of water effects from them (I would really like one like the GW stuff... I might just have very bad woodland water effect skillz though)

Can't really help you there, but it seems you are getting help anyway. I need some water effects for some terrain I'm doing aswell, thanks for posting this.
