Why do the Eldar have specific color schemes for their forces, not including standard Guardians and vehicles? Is there a reason there is no apparent unified color scheme in order to make the force look cohesive?

People will paint their schemes to make them more cohesive.

However, part of the studio scheme is used to represent the specialist nature of the
aspect temples. The idea is that these warrior cults are the same throughout the
various Eldar Craftworlds.

The Aspect colours are the traditional shrine colours used (though there are variations).

They were introduced back in WD127 when the Aspects were first realised, with a few variations in the section showing painting.

They go back to the shrine founders, the Phoenix Lords so it's a bit like why Ultra Marines are a different Colour to Blood Angels or Imperial Fists.

Their is ways to subtily tie them to the rest of your army via some cloth on the models that can be used. Fire dragons though look like hazard cones gone bad....

Personaly, the variety of color I get to use when painting my Eldar is one of the reason's I love them so much.

And when you put them on the table, you can wow the opponent in to submission just by having such a diverse force.

The points aboive about tieing the army together with subtle details is very relavent. You can use the cloth, or the gems, or the bases, or a variety of other elements to pull it all together. Honestly, when I drop my Eldar force on the table, it looks like one army, even though there is Blue, Green, Red, White, etc, etc.

Paint them any colour you like, I just want to shoot them down! lol

I have a rivalry with eldar.

But Ive always thought the colour thing was a bit odd.

If I were to collect them, I would keep colour consistency throughout the army.

Full on, Full on!

The aspect warriors live at their shrines and typically come forward to a specific craftworld or battle when needed. Hence they are not a normal part of the craftworld force and will look different. Using the Stones, bases, etc is an easy way to tie it all together but in my Eldar I made sure I used the same colors for bone, greens, blues, etc where they were present on the models. This tied them together even more.

I do what the voices in my wifes head say...

Actually the shrines are located on the Craftworlds themselves. The colors are just due to the tradition of the shines as Eldar hold their traditions as law. It's just another way of enforcing the Paths way of life.
