I just received my first order of resin bases in the mail today, and have a question for anyone who has actually used resin bases before. Do you paint your base BEFORE attaching figures to them (like the Using Resin Bases article posted here) or do you assemble the figure on the base and then primer\paint with it fixed in place? I can see some advantages to doing it both ways, but I am on the fence as to how to proceed so any advice would be welcomed.

Clean, mark and drill pinning points, then paint and detail base - then add mini.

I only use resin bases on metal models - and pinning is the best way to ensure they stay on.

Make sure you clean the resin bases well with soap and water, then rinse. Maybe use a toothbrush too. The lubricants they use for moulds often stay on in shipping.

Be careful of the resin dust to if you need to do any sanding or filing, it isn't great for you.
