I’m looking for a red primer for blood angels. Normally I would primer and paint them the proper way, but there not mine and I need them done quickly. Any suggestions?

Try a red oxide primer from an auto-repair shop

Tamiya do some good coloured sprays. Only problem is you would have to prime it first as it's only a basecoat.

I would be carful of the red oxide primer. If memory serves it tends to be thicker than normal primer which will wash out details and I am not sure how it will react to the acrylics. In the past the oxide primer was meant to "etch" itself into metals to prevent rusting. Now it may just be a primer with pigment but I would not take the chance. I would primer with a thin coat of grey krylon then use a red spray paint over it. Just make sure to use an acryic spray paint. I also know of some who have tried the Krylon Fusion paints that bond directly to plastic with no primer. They have a good red for Blood Angels and my understanding is the paint is not so thick that it washes out the details. I have not tried it but I have heard good things about it!!

I do what the voices in my wifes head say...

This what I managed to achieve on some cadian-based renegades -

NOTE: not finished!
I did a wash of Dev Mud over the whole lot then used blood red to highlight / base coat the fabric parts.

I think the detail held up ok - suppose it depends on the brand.
