For a few weeks now, I've been posting updates for The Painting Corps on Facebook, along with some other redirection links to other great painting tutorials around the blogosphere. I've seen a few other groups, namely TGN and Beasts of War on there as well.

I think it's a great way to keep people up to date and to add a bit more depth to the sense of community.

What are your thoughts on the new 'trend'? Useful? Useless? Don't even use social network sites to begin with?

Honestly I love them being as I always thought in the past going to different gaming stores gave great insite and ideas into my painting, and army modeling. Now this is just another extension in a far greater capacity. Now I am looking essentially at "STORES" around the world and I love it. Seeing great ideas from say Corbin to sersi to IDK anyone really.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

If you're on Facebook, grey_death, have a look at the Sheffield Irregulars

There are ups and downs with using FB as a medium, I've found. It makes organising things a lot easier, thanks to it being a centralised communications platform. On the flipside, as anyone can talk there is the potential for a high noise ratio.

Also, the recent change to the Group layout is annoying, though Fan pages seem to work well for the Painting Corps.

This is, emphatically, why I will continue suggesting nuking Guard and starting over again. It's a legacy army that needs to be rebooted with a new focal point.

Confirmation of why no-one should listen to Kanluwen when it comes to the IG - he doesn't want the IG, he want's Kan's New Model Army...

I was just going to suggest Sheffield Irregulars too. I enjoy visiting their group. They have contests, meet-ups and also have a magazine in PDF. Which while in it's early stages is still finding it's way (it's a little cluttered) will turn out to be really amazing. It is a good read though.

Of course, as an American, that means I must say that soccer sucks, and football (real football... you know, the one where you do everything with your hands) is 10,000 times as good. I mean, football players could probably beat up soccer players, even, because they actually know sports.
