So I got a new computer and installed office 03 on it. Thrid time I've done it IIRC. It wouldn't let me register my copy since I exceeded my licence quota. And now it's disabled key features like, oh, being able to type.

As it happens computer #3 is sitting next to me and I plan to scrap it. Does anyone know if there's a way to uninstall office thereby freeing up my licence?

I'd rather not buy office 07 since I hate it... They moved all the buttons around and made things that used to be simple a real pain.

I've been experimenting with OpenOffice recently. The change takes a little getting used to but it does the job.

Can't you take it to one of those marvellous MS shops and get them to fix it for you?

YO DAKKA DAKKA!

Just use OpenOffice. Seriously, anything Word '03 can do and more.

Turns out I can get it from work for $10...

It's that mega annoying 2007 but I can deal.

Just remember that '07 saves to its own new formats by default (.docx, xlsx, etc) and that other people with older packages or OO may have issues with them (there are file converters for them though).

I have Office 2003 on 3 computers here.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

Just one of the many annoying features!

Actually I don't think 07 has any new features, they just moved around the old ones to make it feel new.

I hate 2007 as well. I just use Open Office to type up everything, I use 2007 to make it look better as it does contents pages better as well as the title pages and headers and footers. Other than making it look good, there is really no point to 2007 at all

I use Open Office and Pages at home.

I use some version of Word at work. I'm not sure which. It probably isn't 2007 because we haven't upgraded from XP yet.
