You need some predators. Perhaps a pride or two of lions. They should sort out the camels pretty quick.

Oh, we have predators.
Only problem is, they are mainly inimical to humans.

Camels don't like going for swims off the coast, or in the wrong rivers.

They were introduced in Victorian times. Like other introductions such as rabbits and cane toads, it turned out to be a bad idea.

And I read that they are going to solve the crisis by sending in choppers with machine guns and mow them down...
