Working on a list for a low point cost tournament in early December (750 points, no named characters, there will be cake).

This will be my first serious attempt at a tournament, with the low point value are their any pointers for playing the Boys at this level?

Currently thinking of bringing roughly 20 Shoota boys on foot, big mek w/ SAG, 20 slugga boys in a wagon, and mayhaps a mob of lootas to help with rhinos and such. (while risky, thinking the SAG mek will get a pole and get stuck with the lootas to help keep them on the board)

Tied and gagged in the back of your car

SAG might be fun at low point values, but because of the low point values, your mileage for the entire army is likely to be based entirely on how you roll for the gun in the first place.

Definetly sounds fun, but risky.

Really though, at low point values, it's hard to go wrong with orkz, since a sea of green is a sea of green. To be honest, I'm more of an elites man, and I'd field nobz as troops long before I'd field the boyz, but it's hard to deny the sheer destructive force of a fuckton of those gitz.

Orks, if played smart, can be utterly broken at such small pts values. Take a KFF mek, at least 60 boyz, and at least 6 killa kanz with grotzookas/rokkit launchas. Fill up remaining points with more boyz/deffkoptas and laugh at your opponents expression. Kanz give boyz a 4+ cover save, KFF gives kanz a 4+ cover save. Win-Win.

Or you can go mad and take a walker army

Big Mek 35
Big Mek + KFF 85

Deff Dread + 2x B.Shooter + extra armour (x2 units) 190
Gretchin (20)+runt herder 80

Killa Kan + bigshoota (x3)(x3 units) 360

Total 750 (you could split the Gretchin up and have them come in later to act as scoring units and just place the 2 Meks as a unit)

There's also a magic in just taking 20 boys and throwing them in a battle wagon with a deffrolla x3... AV14 is tough kill at low points levels
