Actually, it's my first model ever...
I'm quite proud!
(Yes, I noticed the grey in the super close up shots. :/)

My First Nob!

Things I learned:
Man, bright yellow is so tough! (So tough!)
Bad Moonz like the bling.
GW needs to make a brass colour (shell casings are a mixture of Shining Gold and Mithril Silver, but probably need more gold in the mix)
Priming grey makes painting metallic areas easy!
I should paint all over with my primary colour to minimize the number of times I need to do fine edge work.

What do the professionals (Yes you!) think?

Excessively parenthetical!

Looks good. And I agree Bright yellow is a pain to paint.

I like it, especially for a first piece. The thing with yellows (and whites and reds, for that matter) is it's all in the layering. put on a few thin layers working up to that yellow you want and he'll look even better. Nice work.

Very cool! I'd say you're a hell of a lot cleaner of a painter than I am with lines and the like.

Have you considered trying out other techniques too? Some inking or highlighting with 50-50 mixes (the last colour applied plus one that is lighter) on edges of things might really help pull out more detail in your figs!

Oldhead, still kicking
