I have just thought of using a Star Wars Trade Federation Tank model made by AMT for a TAU tank. (sorry I don't have a pic) To me it looks very TAU. I've seen these models sold very cheap @ a few hobbies shops that don't do wargaming or sci-fi, just sitting in the back collecting dust. It says 1/32 scale, I was wondering what the size comparison is & if anyone has done this before & should they be Hammeheads or Devilfish? Thanks in advance for the input.

They DO look sort of Tau.

Go for it. It's 40k.

I've not seen the tank in person, but I've been wanting to do a conversion like that for a long time. I think it would be more effective to make it a Tau Super-heavy (Swordfish equivalent?) than to fit it into the existing codex options.

I've made one and it's pretty big. Not including the gun it could be as much as 12" long and 8" wide. Don't know what look you are after but it will dwarf the Devilfish.

Thanks Howard, the size is what I was looking for. @ Johira are there rules for this Swordfish in the Planet Strike book or some other place?

Somewhere in south-central England.

There's a good page about it here, with advice about making the kit.

http://www.starwarsmodels.com/tank.html

It gives dimensions as 12 inches long, 10 wide and 6.5 high.

As said above, a lot bigger than a Hammerhead.

It does look a good kit and would do nicely for a Tau superheavy vehicle.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.
