Hello all,
So its paper writing time again, and, surprise of surprises, I actually post (not that I expect anyone keeps track of this pattern, but I'm trying so hard NOT to notice, I can't help but!).
Anyways, been considering the horde of Trukks my very much in-molasses-speed-progress Ork army will have, and realized I have a bit of a difficulty.
I have thus far, two Ork Trukk boxes, one random military scale model truck (not sure what real automobile model it is, but it isn't the concern at hand), and one model of Anakin's Podracer from Star Wars: Episode I.
This is the model (as someone else has built and painted it):
Now, so far, I have one solid and one vague idea, but still have parts leftover from those... so looking for help if anyone would like to!
First idea, the solid one, is taking the 'Cockpit' section, and making that the cab of a Trukk. Driver would sit in the seating area, replace with Ork Trukk controls and seat probably. Take the top doohickey (air intake I think) off the engine block of the Trukk and have it sticking through the front of the new cab. Then, instead of the suspension up front holding the wires that connect the cab to the jet engines, have them be rickety attachments to oversized wheels from the Trukk sprue.
From there its finding a place for the gunner, putting the new cab on the undercarriage from the Trukk sprue, and fitting together the cab, undercarriage, and flatbed section in a way that looks like Orky tech.
Now the second idea I struggle with. You see, I have two massive jet engines, with a great level of detail, both of which look like
raw exposed and Orky technology (performing the impossible by improbable means!). Yet, I can't think of a sufficiently aesthetically pleasing (as in, what will look zogging cool and not just stupid) way of fitting the engines with a Trukk.
Any ideas welcome!
