Just did a few league games and I'm getting mixed answers to questions people always ask regarding the monolith.
1: When it deep strikes, can it fire the particle whip even though it counts as moving at cruising speed and thus normal vehicles can't. Your dakka FAQ says yes but other tournament standard players say no.
2: Can it shoot both the Gauss Flux and the Particle Whip in the same turn, even though the Whip is an Ordinance weapon and only one would normally be able to fire with other vehicles. Rules says the matrix may be fired as a particle whip regardless of moving, shaken, weapon destroyed, etc etc so I'm confused when some say yes and others say no.
3: As per the older rules said, Ordinance weapons used the large blast template, but in 5th ed, it says it uses the template listed in the weapon profile. For the PW, it says blast, as in most cases small blast. Has this been FAQ'd somewhere? I'm unable to find an answer.
Thanks in advance, these answers really would help.

1. This can be debated a bit. The arguement against is based on the fact the Mono moved at cruising speed and thus, according to the rules, cannot fire any weapons since it is not a fast vehicle. The Dakka FAQ takes the point that codex > core rulebook, and focuses instead on the point in the codex where it says firing the particle whip can be done even if the unit has moved. The question becomes one of whether the 'fire even if moved' rule can trump the ability of the unit to not fire any weapons. I tend to accept the Dakka FAQ interpretation, but suggest you double check with the TO of any tourney you are going to. For friendly play you just need to talk it over with your opponent first and come to an agreement.
2. According to the rules you cannot fire an additional weapon when firing an Ordinance weapon. The GW Necron FAQ agrees. The rules you mentioned have no bearing upon the ability to fire other weapons in addition to an Ordinance weapon.
3. According to the rules you would use the small template. If you play by the GW FAQ you would use the large template. Most people accept the large template as correct.

thank you very much, I figured as much with #2, seemed a bit much. Had a fellow Necron player try to reason it somehow and I was unable to bring his exact wording to memory. Again, thanks

Actually, the BRB also specifies it as a Large Blast. Some people would also argue that the Necron 'ordnance blast' is non-specific about the size, resulting in a large blast (as per p58). Ordnance blasts very rarely use a small blast marker.

Good point about pg. 58. I agree with your read and desire to subscribe to your periodical.
