I just went a little nuts and went in for oh $150 in Star Wars minis. Plus what I already had.
So I figure I'll get some friends together and do a Hoth megabattle.
I have the Hoth sceario book that comes with an outside map and I have Galaxy tiles for an indoor map.
So I was thinking a 2 part battle.
Part 1 - Enter the base
Plan on 4 players, easy to scale if I get more or less.
Both sides get 2x200 pt squads
Light side is Rebels or Fringe. They get 2 snowspeeders
Dark Side is Sith or Empire. They get 2 AT-STs
Game lasts 10 turns or until one side is wiped out or until the Empire takes 5 entrances..
Map has 6 entrances to the Rebel Base, rebels deploy on top of them. Empire enters from either narrow side of the map (their choice after they see deployment).
Empire must take 1 or more entrances.
Entrances 5 and 6 are closest to the underground hanger and thus the most important.
Part 2 - Inside the base
Map is a maze build from Galaxy tiles
Players use any survivors of the last battle + 200 points of reinforcements.
No snowspeeders or AT-STs
Rebels deploy at any entrance they controlled on the surface, Empire at any entrance they controlled.
Rebels must get to the hanger in the center and evacuate. Empire must kill them or capture the Hanger.
The hanger is a large room in the center, any model can evacuate instead of moving.
Game ends when all rebels have fled or died, the Empire has captured the hanger (no rebels in the hanger at the end of a turn).
Victory is how many points of rebels evacuate vs how many points are killed.
