Wondering if anyone has faced the uber stealthed, massive LP, Type1 AFV dropping list of doom yet....
I have played against Cogs only once with my Karmens and we ended in a draw....not bad I guess. However my opponent was rather limited by the fact that all he had was the Army Box figs which has, apparently, the worst Type1 Cogs have...
Going through the army book you can see the massive potential to cheese all out with this army...here's some examples
Add 3 Heroes to a Type3 Inf Unit-Since Heroes can't be grounded you know have an entire ungroundable unit!
Hero in a Stealthed unit..pretty much self explanatory. Cant kill the Hero till you kill the unit, if you cant see the unit you're kindof SOL now arent ya
Deflector Shield..this is the ultimate crap IMO...need 13 damage to take down a Vandal. Combine with the AI Beacon and tons of free Type1's in base contact also adding their repair and you pretty much have an indetructible, godlike accuracy strider from hell that will destroy everything it targets. With the rules "Clarification" that the hero doesn't even have to be on the board to give the Vandal this ability, just in "Reserve", you're pretty much screwed....
ALready tons of ranting about this on the AT-43 Forums.
Ok...given this is worst case scenario here and if I ever saw someone actually setting this up I would smack him upside the head and find another person to play but still..what would you suggest to kill it or at least nullify it in a tourney?
So far the best idea seems to be Karman Nova to nix all the summoning...but what about other armies?
Any suggestions? I will add more stuff as I think of them I guess

Mass mortar fire and engies to repair vehicles. I fought a RB army that ran that as a list and it cleaned my clock. I kept getting knocked down and couldn't fire. RB, UNA and Therian *** vehicles do twice as much damage as the Vandal and IIRC have higher armor as well.

I tabled a more traditional RB list with lots of infantry and kollossus suits without losing a model.

UNA can use jammers against the Vandal. My group doesn't allow *** vehicles unless the other side has them though.

This is not using the AT-43 scenario rules though.

I have use in a 4k Ap 2 vandals and 4 prowlers.... in an A-volution patter...I lost 1 vandeltomasive nina+bane goliaths concentrated fire and 1 baal 1 succubus volume of fire... in 1 turn, not have time to repair, specially with routines... So no its not impossible to beat that sort of platoon... eventually I lost by not being able to control objectives while the Therians controled some for 3 turns,...

Nothing new... and difficult... but thats close to or more than 1000 AP, that can be picked up by A) snipers b) lasser guns etc... its difficult to ground but not unkillable

you cant see the unit but you can shoot a unit behind the stealted unit... as per the rules... 1 impact you score goes to the unit in between... thus killing the stealthed ones... you can snipe the hero... yopu can run over that unit with AFV... not impossible... besides the unit you are talking about is the one that is CC unit... so they also need to get close

Yes difficult... VERY difficult... but not impossible, snipe the hero if available if not... forget the Vandal and go for picking infantry... OR concentrate your fire to the Vandal... even with 13 damage a good amount of missiles lasser guns etc can do the job in a few turns...

If you are using T-regulator for that as in T-regulator platoon IIRC you dont have heroes with Ai beacon, so you cant actually reinforce withtype 1 striders

If you use the generic platoon. and plan to maximize the unit of type 1 AFV in a normal game 2000 AP and you want also the Vandal then you would have only 500 AP for a hero unit, that either you have an A-Volution for the beacon OR T-regulator for the shield...

In bigger game sis possible, but oviously your opponent can also have more units....

I have used them and no one smack me... even though it is a difficult build is not impossible, for that matter better say no type 3 afv in our games...

in a tourney you have to waitn until the organizers give the particualr set of rules, and in 2000AP you will pull this very difficult with a balanced force to come on top, if there are more points you can maximize some or all

Snipers
Electronic warfare specialists
Bane goliath + nina
Babylon 0
Dople urods with jkrasnies for repair
Hussars
Easy TRikes
Jammers in general
Missile launchers and Tac Arms
if they can pull two Vandals you can put 2 Fire Crawlers
Nova faction WILL cripple Cogs AFV heavy platoon

There ARE options but it allways come to the points
