I've been pondering this for a while now. Say you've put your entire army into reserve, how are reserves treated if your opponent has blocked your entire table's edge with figures and you have nothing that flies, deepstrike or outflanks? What happens to reserves that can't be deployed?

If we say that tanks can tankshock when arriving from reserve, how are damage results handled if they manage to stop the tank? A tank without extra armor when stunned, any tank that gets immobilized, or wrecked/explodes? I'd go as far as saying wrecked is wrecked, and the explosion range gets measured from the tank shock location. But what about immobilized and stunned? I'm leaning toward stunned being put back in reserve, whileas immobilized would be destroyed.

Thoughts? Ideas? How would you play it?

i'm not sure if your trolling or not... this has been discussed until blue in the face.

but here we go again:

tanks may tanks shock on. if stopped, they count as destroyed.

infantry may not move on and count as destroyed.

Sorry, my bad. No I wasn't trolling but I should have searched, which I didn't, slipped my mind while pondering this because of reserve talk in another thread.

Not actually true.

Tanks can tank shock on. The rules don't cover what happens to them if they are stopped while not completely on the table.

Skimmers and other units that can move over enemy models would have no impediment.

Other models (depending on your viewpoint) either

(1)can't move on... in which case they are only destroyed if the game is being played to a time limit, as there is no way given by the rules to continue from that point, as you have a compulsory action that must be completed before you can do anything else... but that you are unable to complete. So in an untimed game, you're simply stuck unable to continue the game.

or

(2)the requirement for them to move on over-rides the general movement rule forbidding them from moving within 1" of enemy models, in which case they move on through any spaces between the enemy. If there are no spaces between the enemy models, you're back to option (1).

Either way, you'll need to discuss a house rule before the game begins.

TL : DR - The rules don't cover it. You'll need a house rule.

Pretty much that.
It's based on what the two players decide beforehand or the TO's choice.

Seriously though, most places are open list environments... to NOT see this coming says more about the blindness of the player that can't get anything onto the board IMO.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.
