My starter army came today, and once the initial rush of tearing everything open, inhaling that toxic miasma lovingly referred to as "New Game Smell", I got down to seriously looking at the miniatures. These are my conclusions.

#1: I was somewhat taken aback that the walkers required some assembly, but it made sense in how the box was packed, and they were quite easy to put together.

#2: The troops generally look pretty good, though they would benefit from a light wash, perhaps half black and half brown. The only ones that I have a problem with are the twins, their hair looks sort of shabby, and the one with the blue hair has some blue on her face. Easily fixable. Funny how the grenade launchers look a lot like heavy bolters...

#3: The army list and quick rules came in several languages. This I understand, as it makes for a simpler supply chain.

#4: The barricade sections are awesome. I look forward to somehow getting more of them, since they are very chunky and look more like battlefield fortifications than those thin wall sections that GW has recently put out. The shipping container is also ace, especially since the doors open.

#5: The blast template is flexible, but very thick and sturdy, I highly recommend it. And the box everything comes in is very thick, so it will be my carrying case for the foreseeable future.

Over all, It's a great deal, and I look forward to finding some other AT-43 players in the area.

Kansas City. Right in the middle, between the two coasts where all the beautiful people are.
