One Canoptek Scarab in a Swarm




I'll be entering a 2v2 doubles tourney soon, and my ally could either be Tau or Salamanders. We're mostly against mech armies, and I was wondering if anyone has any feedback for my list? Thanks!

Farseer - guide,witnessing,warding, spear
Fire prism - holo fields spirit stones
6x jetbikes - 2x cannons
Wave serpent - twin shuriken cannon, spirit stones, vectored engines
10x storm guardians - flamers
5x warp spiders

The plan is to cast guide on a select unit that my teammate has. I'll be keeping the jetbikes and warp spiders in reserve, to grap objectives if need be, or to at least survive the opening turns. My waveserpent is there to absorb fire and grap objectives too. My fire prism is there for mainly ant-tank, and i'll be screening it with jetbikes for a 4+ cover save.

I need warding on my farseer to help against the amount of psykers i'm facing, and I always take witnessing to ensure my powers get kicked off.

I don't really like this list... Also, IIRC, guide only affects your units, doom is another story entirely though...

Farseer, drop the runes of witnessing, if you really want to keep them w/e
Fire prism, take two or go home, but seriously, try to fit another one in if it's available
Jetbikes, MEH
Serpent, get those vectored engines off there, you move fast enough already
Storm Guardians, these are in the serpent, right?
Spiders, not enough to do anything effectively... drop them for some warlocks to add onto your jetbike/storm guardian squads

Seeing the same things as Inq

Farseer: drop the Witnessing, increase chance of double 1 is not worth the minor success chance.
Guide - Not sure where you goign with that one, Doom or fortune would be much better served

Fire Prism - Unless the guide is going here your going to get mediocre results with jsut one. holo and psirit stones on it is a waste. You have a 60" range, use it.

Jetbikes - You have a attack setup on these which means I believey ou plan to get them in for some shots. Doing this without a warlock with them is a recipe for disaster. Either do 3-5 naked purely for scoring or 6 w/ 2 cannon and a warlock with embolden/Spear.

Wave Serpent- take the vectoreds off and put an anti-tank gun on.

Storm Guardians.... Guardians and Close Combat is an oxymoron. 2 flamers looks good one paper, till the whole squad gets killed by a Marines unit yelling at it.

5 warp spiders could be decent if you plan the attack well, but overall prob too few to do much. The exarch is honestly where a lot of the siper's strength comes from.

Vectored engines don't affect speed, they stop the skimmer from being destroyed if it is immobilised.

Jetbikes are an amazing unit to field, and many of my victories and draws would have been made impossible had it not been for their inclusion in many of my lists.

I may drop the Warp Spiders, but between my army and my teammates', we need 1 fast attack.

Just so you can increase your fire power, since your partner is tau or slamanders, drop the fire prism for 3 war walkers with shuriken cannons. Let your partner bring the AT. Then drop the storm guards and take 10 dire avengers so you can stay at 18 inch range. storm guardians kill things then die because they are right next to whatever they shoot.

With the extra points from the holofields try and fit in an exarch with blade storm for the da's.

The rest of the list looks fine.

What about doomguide/doomfortune farseer + 2x10 avengers in serpents? Your mate will bring anti tank, preferably tau. He will have to bring that one fast attack (pathfinders) and loads of broadsides + some fire warriors and suits.
