MARITIME BUILDINGS BUNDLE

This is 30mm-scale terrain for wargaming, roleplaying games, model railroads, class projects or just for fun. Assembly is quick and easy, requiring just some sheets of cardstock, a sharp hobby knife and glue.

Full instructions are provided, including printing tips and advice for printing at various popular gaming and model railroad scales. These files are 200dpi, which will look great when printed at full size without requiring large file sizes. You'll need Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0 or later in order to use them, and the multiple layers may take additional time to render, so be patient while your images load onto the screen.

MULTI-LAYERED FILES: The PDFs included in this models set are multi-layered and contain a variety of surface textures and external features that you can customize with the click of your mouse. Each model can be configured in countless ways before printing, so what you're really getting are many models in one! With this one bundle you'll be well on your way to constructing a complete medieval or fantasy town. As an added value, each model is also provided as a single-layered version as a convenient alternative.

CONTENTS: This bundle includes 4 main model types: the Bait Shop, Dock Warehouse, Harbormaster's Tower and Net-Mender's Shack. There are also some bonus features, such as a shed, outhouses and crates. While these models have a maritime theme, the PDFs include multiple layers so they'll fit in just about anywhere in your fantasy countryside.

BUNKER DELUXE KIT

The Bunker Deluxe Kit is a downloadable PDF papercraft model perfectly suited for 28mm-30mm science fiction wargames, roleplaying games, dioramas, class projects or just for fun. Construction is easy, combining simple forms that require no special skill or papercrafting experience.

MULTI-LAYERED AND SINGLE-LAYERED FILES: This kit includes a full set of multi-layered files, offering 3 color schemes (gray metal, desert brown, jungle green) for each of its components. Each part can be customized by adjusting the layers, so that you can hide or reveal battle damage, weathering, external equipment or other items. Also included is a set of single-layered files for your convenience, with a limited selection of components and color options. Whether you choose multi-layered or single-layered files to print from, you'll be able to design a variety of bunkers, each with a unique appearance.

DIMENSIONS: The bunker has a footprint of 7" x 9", and stands approximately 4.2" tall at the highest point.

CONTENTS: A ground tile, large support pillars, triangular support columns, long and short walls for the ground level, a staircase, a variety of crates and chests, upper level pieces that can be lifted off to access your soldiers within, long and short walls for the upper level, doors and window shutters that can open and close, and more. Full instructions are provided, as well as a sample layout plan for creating a larger bunker complex.

REQUIRED MATERIALS: To build one bunker, you'll need 13 pages of cardstock to print on, a sharp hobby knife, paper glue and a cutting mat. It's recommended that you also use scissors, a cork-backed aluminum ruler and fine-line ink markers to fill in the paper edges. To make full use of this model, you'll need Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0 or a later version.

Thats some very nice stuff you got there. I am normally a hobby snob when it comes to this stuff, but I started wargaming with paper, and I think more and more each day I find myself attracted to it.

If nothing else it gives a consumer near immediate gratification at least until they are able to create actual models of such things.

Very cool papercraft.

Looking great, the range here is amazing.

I would just ask about a set containing (x4-6) varying townhouse/larger houses. Also a 'Squire's house' or small mansion?

At the moment, I don't yet have enough large buildings to even make a bundle of 4 to 6, and if I did, the price of that set would almost certainly be more than $10, which is more than I'm comfortable with. But we'll see. The Maritime Buildings Bundle that I released earlier this month is my priciest set, but also one of my most popular.

A Squire's House is a great idea. I've been meaning to create horse stables and a blacksmith's shop, and I could bundle those together with a fairly large house. I've added your ideas to my growing list of projects I'd really like to work on.

Kk, just that it occurs looking over the range, that there are a great number of character pieces and that some standardised housing with some room for individual modifications for multiplying would be cool.

Sounds great, please please leave space in the stables to place actual horses.

Buzzard's Knob

Those are quite interesting. I had the old Warhammer City book way back when, but I left them out in the garage and the roof sprang several leaks during a particularly brutal thunderstorm, ruining them. I just may have to pick these up. Off to Wal-mart I go for ink and heavy cardstock.

I didn't have any luck at Walmart or Target for 80# or 100# paper/cardstock.

You might have to go to a Staples or an Office Max...

Any recommendations on type of glue to use on these?

The best type of glue will depend on the paper you're using and the printing method. Whatever you use, it should be a non-toxic paper glue of some kind.

You can use Elmer's Glue-All, which is the ordinary white paper glue everybody uses in school. You can also use an ordinary glue stick, such an Uhu. You could use any clear Acrylic Painting Medium (which is essentially glue) or any other glue suitable for paper collage, Yes! Paste or nearly any glue that's safe for kids. I use Elmer's Carpenter's Wood Glue (Interior style). A tiny bit is all it takes. I dab on just a few little drops and then, using the flat edge of some scrap cardstock, I spread it evenly over the tab.

For best results, avoid glues that are very wet, or if you do use wet glues, use it sparingly. Apply pressure to the pieces that you've glued together for 10 or 20 seconds to give them time to set. (If you want to blow on them, it might help. I do.) That's all it takes.

I suggest that you experiment with whatever kind of paper glue you have available by gluing together some scrap pieces of the cardstock you're using.

Most definitely will. I have a couple of horse models that I can use to make sure they fit.

I printed to 80ish cardstock using a B&W laser printer then tested a few different glues.

  • Standard Elmer's White glue didn't dry fast enough

  • Gorilla Glue super glue, which normally works well for most anything, didn't dry fast enough to be effective. I could glue then put clamps on it for ~3mins per bond, but there's just too many things to glue. It also dissolves the ink and makes a soupy mess on the paper.

  • Also tried rubber cement, but there just wasn't enough surface area for that to be effective.

  • I'll give Elmer's Carpenter's Wood Glue (Interior Style) a try and see what I come up with.

I also experimented with using Great Stuff to fill hollow models and make them more sturdy, have you ever tried this? Seems to work pretty well, though it can be messy =)

Most people don't know how to use Elmers glue and end up using way to much.

use just a drop or two on the tab and then spread it evenly with your finger. Get a THIN even coat, rub your fingers together to clean them up, then put the two pieces together. The glue should set quickly and permanently..

I used it for the one I've made, and the model is solid. Unless I really look, I can't tell where the seems are. And it took all of 5 minutes to make.
