I want to use Swiftclaws in my SW force. Never used bikers before for marines, so I thought this would be a good time to try.

I have 8 bikers, plus 1 attack bike. Not totally sure how to equip and assign them.

Here is my thoughts...

3-4 count unit of Swiftclaws, bare bones with CCW/BP plus a Wolf Guard on Bike with Thunderhammer - AKA Thunderhammer delivery system.. (4-5 models)

3 count unit of Swiftclaws, one carrying a power weapon and another a plasma gun, and the Attack Bike equipped with MM.. for driving around and shooting things.

My problem with this is that the the darn Blood Claw Headstrong rule applies to them, thus the shooty squad is only good at 12-24 inches.... anything less under the MM 1/2 range means I cannot shoot it and have to charge, thus I don't get the MM AP bonus.

Would I be better off giving the melee squad a Power Fist in there, and letting them rampage around, and re-task the Wolf Guard TH to the shooty squad?

OR..

add em all togeather and have a 8+1 squad with all the options?

What would you do, assuming you use Swiftclaws.. (cause going the Thunderwolf route is just not happeneing for me)

Also.. feel free to point out what you do, give me some constructive criticism!

I don't consider Swiftclaws good at all, frankly. The Headstrong rule and reduced BS really hurts.

You can get around the Headstrong by way of your Wolf Guard w/ Hammer. The problem is like the above stated the BS/WS being lower on the claws makes it a very limited use unit. You throw a fist with the squad, and a leader with a Hammer in it and rush something, and that's about it.

I have a 6 man bike squad that has not left my case in many many months. I would suggest spending the points on Thunderwolf Cav, but there are no models or I would have a full unit myself already.

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy My brothers. And you will know My name is the Lord when I lay My vengeance upon thee.
