Does anyonw have a good list that can be competitive andn still be fun for empire???

The most competitive list I can think of is an army with an Arch Lector on a war altar and double stank backed up by infantry. With a fair amount of shooting to support it. People might call cheese but this is probarly the only list where you even have a chance to beat daemons.

The mentioned list above is the only good reason I can think of why Empire is only 2100 pts in ETC.

I think you first need to describe what you mean with 'competitive'.

Competitive in a friendly gaming group?
Competitive in a competitive gaming group?
Competitive in a comped tourney?
Competitive in a no holds barred tourney?

The stated list is the hardest thing the Empire can come up with. It's also totally fun to play against for a lot of armies. Then again, other opponents may also use tricked out Daemons, VC, LM or other nasty list in your gaming environment, it all depends on where you're coming from.

So, where are you coming from?

Very competitive Empire list, which doesn't use the double steam tank spam (which will get you a bad comp score no matter how nice you are):

Archlector on Waralter with Speculum & +1 Str Always strike first sword
Wizard with Rod of Power
Wizard with Ring of Volans & Dispel Scroll
Captain on Pegasus with Casket
2 Cannons
5 Outriders
Steam Tank
Flagellants
Greatswords

Fill in the rest with some handgunner units and swordsmen blocks.

The Australian player at ETC (and he's the top player in Oz this year) took the following list specifically to nerf 'big guy/monster spam/steam tank spam' at ETC. And he won every game.

The cannons and hellblaster ensure cross fields of fire and anyone wants to poke its head out, it gets it blown off.

The WALTER and Knights hit hard, and the flagellants tarpit to tie enemy up for countercharges.

The crossbowmen allow you to outshoot (thanks to range) hanguns, bows and shortbows.

No personal issues, but I can by no means understand how you can say that Lizardmen are even near the competitive level of VC or DoC (not mentioning DE was weird also). Sure, we got a nice new Armybook and we got our Stegadon spam. But I stand behind the idea that even it's not THAT competitive.
As already said, no personal issues.

I agree - lizards are competitive with their great leadership and Stegadons, but not having their own lore on the slann was a negative point, as well as low initiative and WS on every unit choice with the exception of Temple Guard (WS 4 wow). It may change some when 8th edition comes out and hopefully they redo the lores of magic, but I would have liked to have seen a Slann lore that came with very high casting costs but spectacular results.

As far as the Empire lists, that Australian player has a great list. Great blend of magic, shooting and unbreakable units, which makes up for the averageness of empire combat. Very, very annoying list to play against, but it works.

As already said, no personal issues.

Simply, limited time to make write a post, I mostly post from work.

DE should clearly be on the list and I did include the LM for Stegadon spam, just like that the Empire is basically regarded as a low power list unless you start throwing in the Waltar and/or the Stank(s).

It's the possibility for extremes that make a list broken. Some are just more broken than others.
