So i posted one of these guys about 6 months ago, but have since had to change Duty stations and move cross country so the other 4 have been collecting dust since then. I finally pulled out the gear and got my paint station set back up, and have been able to finish the Sergeant. Oh and the last time i posted ALOT of people suggested that the original red helmet was a bit invisible, so i repainted it white and really made it POP a bit more. Oh and i think that they are gonna be a Blood Angel successor chapter! Let me know what you all think about these two so far, the other 3 are coming soon i promise ( wanna get em table ready by Christmas)! Any suggestions and votes will be much appreciated!

I applied a coat of flesh-tone first then washed over it with white for desired effect.

Wow! They're really nice!!

I'd like to see a little weathering / mud spatter / metal scuffing on that white... but it's beautiful to behold as-is, too

meh the models look beutiful and striking. an army would look even better though...lol

my only criticism is the base with the skeleton on it it seems like a black basecoat is shining through and his bon elooks almost grey instead of maybe the white you were trying for

Yeah i noticed that about the base too, but only afterwards! I'll correct it on the other 3 in this squad, it doesn't bother me enough to scrap the base and redo these two, maybe another day. My ultimate goal WOULD be to have my entire army painted this way, but being a Family and Navy man.... just don't have the time.

Impressive stuff. Personally, I think the white is a bit too white. The whole figure has that wonderful black-lined effect going on, then the hammer head and shield edging are pure, bright white. It feels a bit out of place, considering the treatment for the rest of the model. Also, perhaps it's just the photography, but the head of the thunderhammer really seems to lose its shape with this color. I don't see sleek curves and hard edges, I just see WHITE.

The deep warm red go very nice together with the pure white, really nicely done!
