question... tigurius says he can re-roll any reserve rolls.

under the reserve rolls section of the rules, it explains outflanking as a subset of those rules.

using khan + tigurius, can you re-roll not only the roll to come in, but the roll for where you outflank?

I submit you can.

Yes, outflanking is still a reserve roll.
Though... it's expensive as feth...I wouldn't do it, but I'm sure other's will do it for kicks.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

well, think about what you could do with this....

tigurius + khan as HQ's... thats 375 pts

2 squads of terminators in land raider redeemers w/ multimeltas... another 900 pts

so your at 1275 spent for this... for troops, buy 2 squads of scouts, and use tigurius to force them to stay in reserve as long as possible, so they only come out to grab objectives.

spend the rest on sternguard in rhinos to outflank along side khan + tig, and burn the enemy down with a MAJOR freaking alpha strike.

/shrug, still a one trick pony.
Mechskimmers pick the quiet side and wait for the scouts if they feel like it.

Turn 5 you will have no choice with reserves.

In addition, any plan that relies on specific die rolls (even with RR's of whatever result) are just begging to go wrong.

In addition.... seriously, lots of people run the Ass termies in a Bigger metal box, I'm sure everyon deals with those well enough.

I submit that outflanking is not a subset of the reserve rules, but rather, a subset of the rules for deploying. Note that by the time the BGB gets around to talking about outflanking, it has stopped all mention of 'rolling for reserves', indicating that this portion of the process is complete, and you are no longer making a reserves roll, but are making an outflanking roll.

Since we are never given the definition of what a 'Reserves roll' is, it's open to debate, although this feels like hunting for an easter egg.

well, in the BRB, there is a big title for reserve rules, and under that big title, falls outflanking.

leading me to believe its a reserve rule, and thus reserve rolls logically effect reserve rules.

All this means is that outflanking is part of reserves, not that outflanking rolls are reserve rolls. Like I said, 'reserve rolls' are never defined so you can debate it, but it seems like stretching GW's inconsistencies for an advantage.

The Astropath rules in the IG codex say that the reserve roll does not include the outflank roll.
