This is my first post outside the introductions page, so forgive me if this is in the wrong place.

I've just started to collect a Guard army that is going to be a heavy armour regiment so as a result I will be taking a large number of Leman Russ' (9 in total). As a result I want to be able to deal with pretty much everything I can. One unit of the tanks will be 2 Vanquishers and a standard Russ.

Anyone got ideas on how to make the Vanquisher battle cannon so that its obviously not a normal battle cannon? Its basically a Battle Cannon but longer.

Anyone able to help?

Well you could start by extending the barrel with some plastic tubing then ading the old gun break to the end and then adding some sensors to the side of the turret.
An alternative to tubing would be the basilisk's main gun.

When you finish these tanks post them, tank conversions are really cool!

I used a wood dowel to lengthen the barrel. That way, it can pass as either a cool-looking LRBT or a Vanquisher in a pinch. The only tricky part is putting the tip back on right... you have to remember to keep the porting level!

Here is a very basic (and simple) vanquisher conversion. Look at the picture, I cut the barrel off right after it expands. I cut the tubing for a pen the length I wanted then connected it to both the original barrel and the tip of the original barrel with green stuff.

Actually if you are lazy, I believe Forgeworld sells all the different tank barrels, but I noticed PVC worked for one guy at this one gaming place i went to once.

Im not looking at buying the turrets from Forge World cause that starts getting expensive, plus the Forge World vanquisher turrets have the co-axial autocannon which I cant use

My eventual aim for the Leman Russ units is going to be, 2 Vanquishers and a standard Leman Russ, 2 Exterminators (going to use Punisher mount but put in 4 Autocannons in the place of the barrels) and a Punisher, with the last unit as Siege unit so 2 Demolishers and a Executioner.

Also, do the FW turrets fit on the 'new' Leman Russ?

I dont know, but then I've not got any of the FW turrets and plan to convert my Executioners and Vanquishers (same for my Eradicators once I start moving into Planetstrike, 6 Heavy Support choices for a Tank regiment is wrong)

I just threw that out there, and I really didn't find that expensive and I'm poor as crap. But if you really want to build it out of scratch, what everyone else is fine, all you need is a rod or cylinder shape that can fit on the end of the tank while you clip apart the leman russ barrel and fit that upon the cylinder you find.
