So yes, it invests heavily in the Blood Knights, but I always thought these guys were cool.
Bats will screen the Knights, whilst the Vamps will lead the Knights into combats. Cores will move up and hold things in place for the Knights to wipe off the face of the Earth.

Well the main problem is that your general is a 2 wound model that is designed around close combat, which is about the last thing you want to do with a VC army. If he dies, it's basically game over. Your also looking at 6 PD, which is incredibly small for a VC army. You'll probably want to be replenishing your blood knights, as they will see the most combat, but even if you get your Invoc spell off you can only bring one back at a time. Also remember that if your characters go in the blood knight units, they'll be subject to the Frenzied movement of your blood knights (and not get the bonus attack), so your opponent could very easily bait the units, flee and then flank you. Even if a normal unit of ranked infantry hits the flank, he's already looking at +6 combat res, which 1 blood knight can't make up on his own even if he hits and kills with all his attacks.

In this case, should I take out a unit of Ghouls and try to get more PD from my Necromancers/Vamps?

Oh man, there's that Hoff again
(Did you know The Hoff is banned in Germany? No joke! And here in America it's like tizz level 4s all over again!)
Why no lord? They seem pretty ultra-awesome-sexy-cool to me, with loads of fun combos.

True, true.
No lord? I was thinking he would take too many points for what I was attempting to accomplish (Two Fighty Heroes backed up by some cheap necro's)
Now, what do you mean by The Hoff?

Internet and Tournament for The Drakenhoff Banner, one of the more bent things in the game. But at least on a vamp he's just T4 W2 holding it up, could be a lot more wight lordy

So they've really banned it, huh?
Sheesh.
So, how do you think this would fair in a competitive setting? I'm not going to run it, honestly, but I was just wondering.

The Indy GT tournaments that I've been to don't necessarily ban the Drakenhoff banner just for what it is; it ends up being how it is worked into the overrall list as army comp. I think most of them I've seen want VC players to keep it at 9 power dice or less, as well as limiting the power stones and bound items.
As far as changes, I would drop one of the unit of blood knights to run a VC lord, drop a necromancer in favor of an additional vamp, change the skeletons to ghouls and then play around with some of the magic item combinations. VC are sooo customizable it isn't funny, but like I said, having your entire army crumble because you lose a 2 wound model is not good.

Sorry, I don't see the reasoning behind this... You are using 2+ save, uber expensiv calvary pretty much exclusively, ignoring the VCs main strength (raising), and ignoring the awesome units
You have 2 units of 3 models keeping your frenzy intact - they would be my target one. Once they're gone i would just pull your Blood knights around the board and kill all of your unraisable units without worrying about them.
I don't think this army would work at all to be honest.. It could MAYBE work with Static res buffed black knight units but the blood knights are just too expensive

Yeah this list needs a Lord. Yes they are expensive but when your whole army dies because the T4, 2 W model dies you'll understand why they are worth it.

I'll probably need to re-write it. I'll probably mash up the Blood Knights into 1 unit. From there, I'll add a VC Lord, and another Vamp.
I guess I'll switch out for ghouls instead of Skelies. I can see why, but I'd like to have those 4+ buggers every now and then.
I see your point, WingWong. I was thinking of switching to Spirit Hosts for the screens.
